This dissertation provides an overview of the marine environment protection issue on the ships of Lithuanian Shipping Company. The Lithuanian Shipping Company LISCO is the biggest shipping company in Lithuania. Until 1991 LISCO was a part of the USSR merchant fleet and could not carry out not only the whole policy of the company independently from Moscow but even a policy of environmental protection from pollution from ships. After 1991, when Lithuania achieved independence from the USSR, LISCO has became an independent state company. LISCO has worked for only 7 years in the free shipping market, so, it is interesting …

This paper proposes a code reuse mechanism called module embedding that enables the building of new modules from existing ones through inheritance, overriding of procedures, and overriding of types; the paper also describes an implementation scheme for this mechanism. Module embedding is beneficial when modules and classes are used in combination and need to be extended together, or when modules are more appropriate medium than classes.

The objective of this paper is to review the major non-oil sector policy measures from I 960 to date, appraise them in the context of growth in output; and to put on record the implications for future policy direction. The rest of the paper is organized into three Sections. Section II reviews the major policy measures (past and present). The focus of the section is the articulation of policies and strategies adopted to diversify the productive base and stimulate growth of the non-oil sector. Bangladesh, as being a flag, coastal and port state, has a genuine concern about the threat of oil pollution from marine transportation in its waters. However, her concern for accidental oil pollution from ships is not adequately matched by appropriate preventive and remedial measures.
