Erp Analysis Using Matched Filtering, Correlation Coefficient And Mann-Whitney Test, Yun Yan
Dissertations and Theses
Event related potentials (ERPs) carry very important information that relate to the performance of the brain functions of a human being. Further studies have identified that the late positive complex (LPC) are affected by the memory process.
The matched filter method is used to improve the signal-to-noise ratio of signal ERPs. We use the output of the matched filter to distinguish the difference of the waveforms. In our study, we found that the peak values of the matched filter output differed among normal subjects and memory-impaired subjects.
The correlation coefficient is a statistical value that can be applied to find …

On The Stark Broadening Parameters Of The Two Nii Spectral Lines Of The 3d-4f Transition, Vladimir Milosavljevic, Stevan Djenize
On The Stark Broadening Parameters Of The Two Nii Spectral Lines Of The 3d-4f Transition, Vladimir Milosavljevic, Stevan Djenize
Articles
Stark parameters (width and shift) of two singly ionized nitrogen spectral lines, that belong to 3d-4f transition have been measured in a linear pulsed, low pressure, arc discharge in the nitrogen-oxygen plasma at a 54000 K electron temperature and at a 2.8×10 23 m−3 electron density. The measured values have been compared to the existing experimental and calculated data

Robust Multiobjective Feedback Design Via Combined Quantifier Elimination And Discretization, Chaouki T. Abdallah, Wei Yang, Peter Dorato
Robust Multiobjective Feedback Design Via Combined Quantifier Elimination And Discretization, Chaouki T. Abdallah, Wei Yang, Peter Dorato
Electrical & Computer Engineering Faculty Publications
This paper deals with the application of computerized quantifier elimination (QE) methods for robust multiobjective feedback design, when design objectives are specified in the frequency domain. The class of design problems considered here has no analytical solutions, so that computerized solutions are of interest, even for relatively simple problems. However, due to the computational complexity of pure QE algorithms, a combined QE discretization approach is proposed and illustrated with an example.

Neural Networks In Fault Detection: A Case Study, Chaouki T. Abdallah, D.R. Hush, G.L. Heileman, D. Docampo
Electrical & Computer Engineering Faculty Publications
We study the applications of neural nets in the area of fault detection in real vibrational data. The study is one of the first to include a large set of real vibrational data and to illustrate the potential as well as the limitations of neural networks for fault detection.

In this paper the problem of designing a fixed state feedback control law which minimizes an upper bound on linear-quadratic performance measures for m distinct plants is reduced to a convex programming problem.

Variable Frequency Controlled Zero-Voltage Switching Single-Ended Current-Fed Dc-To-Ac Converter With Output Isolation, Issa Batarseh, Kasemsan Siri

A modified DC-to-AC power converter accomplishes power transfer to a load with electrical isolation, zero-voltage and zero-current switching, using a transformer core resetting mechanism. The power converter contains two switching devices, a main device connected in parallel and a secondary device connected in series with a transformer primary winding. A secondary winding of the transformer is connected through a two-port resonant link circuit to a resistive load. Zero-voltage switching and proper transformer-core resetting are achieved from the resonance that exists between the parasitic capacitance of the secondary switching device and the magnetization inductance of the transformer. A transformer leakage inductance …
