Nebraska Anthropologist

Type II diabetes has reached epidemic proportions among Native Americans. It Is estimated that 12.2 percent of all Native Americans in the U.S. have Type II diabetes. This compares with 5.2 percent of the general U.S. population (Diabetes Statistics 1997). The highest rate of diabetes in the world is in the Pima Nation. Half of all Pima Indians age 35 and older have diabetes (West 1974). Diabetes causes severe health complications and is a major cause of
death for Native Americans.

Tibetan Fraternal Polyandry: A Review Of Its Advantages And Breakdown, Jeff Willett

The fraternal polyandry marriage relationship of Tibet is widely considered
to be a means of preventing the division of a family's resources among its male heirs. As a family resource preservation strategy, Tibetan polyandry accomplishes the same goal of the European stem family system, but in a very different way. Researchers have suggested that polyandry developed in Tibet, because it provides a household with enough male laborers to fully exploit the marginal agricultural lands in the Himalayas, that it serves as a means of population control, or that it serves as a way of reducing tax obligations to feudal Tibetan …

ความสามารถในการดูแลความเครียด และภาระในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจวายเลือดคั่ง, เพ็ญจันทร์ เสรีวิวัฒนา, บังอร ผลเนืองมา, วันดี โตสุขศรี

Journal of Nursing Research, Innovation, and Health

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มุ่งศึกษาถึงความสามารถในการดูแลความเครียดและภาระในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจวายเลือดคั่ง ที่เป็นผู้ดูแลหลักและพาผู้ป่วยมาตรวจรักษาที่คลินิก ตรวจโรคหัวใจ โรงพยาบาลศิริราช โรงพยาบาลราชวิถี และโรงพยาบาลพระมงกุฎเกล้า จำนวน 80 ราย ด้วยแบบสอบถามที่ประกอบด้วย ข้อมูลทั่วไป แบบวัดความสามารถในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแล แบบวัด ความเครียด และแบบวัดภาระในการดูแลผู้ป่วยหัวใจวายเลือดคั่งของสตรีผู้ดูแล แล้ว นําข้อมูลมาวิเคราะห์หาสัมประสิทธิ์ของตัวแปร โดยใช้สัมประสิทธิ์สหสัมพันธ์ของเพียร์สันระหว่างความสามารถในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลความเครียดและภาระในการดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะหัวใจวายเลือดคั่ง \nผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความสามารถในการดูแลและความเครียดของสตรีผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยภาวะ หัวใจวาย เลือดคั่ง อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง โดยมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 6.14 และ 1.94 ตามลําดับ ส่วนภาระในการดูแลของสตรีผู้ดูแลอยู่ในระดับน้อย มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 2.21 และพบว่าความ มีความสัมพันธ์กัน ทางลบอย่างไม่มีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (r = -0.843, p > 7.05) และความเครียดกับภาระในการดูแล มีความสัมพันธ์กันทางบวกอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (r = 0.5548, p > 0.001)

พฤติกรรมการสอนแบบการประชุมปรึกษา ในคลินิกของอาจารย์พยาบาล, พูลสุข เจนพานิชย์, จินตนา ยูนิพันธุ์

การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์และเปรียบเทียบพฤติกรรมการสอนและการใช้ การประชุมปรึกษาของอาจารย์พยาบาลในการสอนในคลินิก ภาควิชาพยาบาลศาสตร์ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ตัวอย่างประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ อาจารย์ พยาบาลที่ทำการสอนในคลินิก จํานวน 30 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้คือ แบบสังเกต พฤติกรรมการสอนและแบบสัมภาษณ์การใช้ การประชุมปรึกษาของอาจารย์พยาบาล ซึ่งผู้วิจัยสร้าง ขึ้นโดยผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงตามเนื้อหาจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 10 ท่าน ความเที่ยงของแบบสังเกต เท่ากับ 0.92 \nผลการวิจัยพบว่า \n1. อาจารย์พยาบาลมีพฤติกรรมการสอนในการประชุมปรึกษาจํานวนมากที่สุดในเรื่อง พฤติกรรมส่วนบุคคล ในการสร้างบรรยากาศที่ดี รองลงมาได้แก่ ด้านการกระตุ้นให้นักศึกษามี ส่วนร่วมในการแสดงความคิดเห็น ด้านการเสนอความรู้ และแนวคิดต่าง ๆ ด้านการประเมินผลและ ป้อนข้อมูลย้อนกลับ และด้านการเสริมแรงเพิ่มแรงจูงใจ ตามลำดับ \n2. พฤติกรรมการสอนของอาจารย์ที่มีคุณวุฒิทางการศึกษา และประสบการณ์การสอนที่แตกต่างกันจะไม่แตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 \n3. อาจารย์พยาบาลใช้การประชุมปรึกษา โดยจัดกลุ่มนักศึกษากลุ่มย่อย 5-10 คน การ ประชุมปรึกษาก่อนปฏิบัติงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเตรียมนักศึกษาให้พร้อมที่จะปฏิบัติ จำแนกปัญหา ของผู้ป่วยวางแผนการพยาบาล ตรวจสอบความรู้นักศึกษา และแจ้งจุดมุ่งหมายในการเรียน เวลาที่ใช้ คือ 20-30 นาที สำหรับการประชุมปรึกษาหลังปฏิบัติงาน มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อประเมินผลงานที่ ปฏิบัติอภิปรายปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ทางคลินิกและทบทวนความรู้ทางด้านวิชาการ เวลาที่ใช้มากกว่า 45 นาที สถานที่มักจัดคือในห้องประชุมหรือห้องสอนแสดง และรูปแบบการ ประชุมปรึกษาส่วนใหญ่เป็นการใช้การอภิปราย

The production, consumption, and regulation of tobacco is presently the subject of much discussion and debate. While the issues surrounding tobacco have been debated for decades, much of the current attention on tobacco is due to the many proposals to regulate tobacco, the state and class action lawsuits pending against the tobacco industry, and the damaging tobacco company documents that have recently been made public. Most tobacco control proposals are intent on expanding the presence of government in the tobacco industry through increased regulation and taxation.
