Guideway Transit And Intermodalism: Function And Effectiveness: Case Study, Pittsburgh, Mitchell P. York

CUTR Research Reports

This report is one of nine case studies prepared as part of the study, Guideway Transit and Intermodalism: Function and Effectiveness. This case study examines guideway transit and intermodalism in the context of the nation's pioneer in transit busways, a major metropolitan area revitalizing an old streetcar system, and continuing use of incline planes. Pittsburgh is serving as a model for other metropolitan areas considering using busways as a primary method of public transportation. Numerous main points and lessons teamed can be·useful for other communities that are considering investing in fixed guideway transit.

Legal Narratives, Theraputic Narratives: The Invisibility And Omnipresence Of Race And Gender, Leslie G. Espinoza

Michigan Law Review

My first introduction to Denise Gray was through a form. The intake sheet was dated October 17, 1994. The legal problem was straightforward. My introduction to Denise Gray would come much later. I am a clinical law professor. The clinic, Boston College Legal Assistance Bureau, is known as "LAB." I teach students law by supervising them as they represent, usually for the first time, a real person with real problems.

A Cost Impact Assessment Tool For Pfs Logistics Consulting, Angela P. Giddings Feb 1997

A Cost Impact Assessment Tool For Pfs Logistics Consulting, Angela P. Giddings

Theses and Dissertations

Response surface methodology (RSM) is used for optimality analysis of the cost parameters in mixed integer linear programming. This optimality analysis goes beyond traditional sensitivity and parametric analysis in allowing investigation of the optimal objective function value response over pre-specified ranges on multiple problem parameters. Design of experiments and least squares regression are used to indicate which cost parameters have the greatest impact on the optimal objective function value total cost-and to approximate the optimal total cost surface over the specified ranges on the parameters. The mixed integer linear programming problems of interest are the large-scale problems in supply chain …
