THE OCCASION. a program commemorating the publication of the first volume of the papers of Frederick Douglass, escaped slave, abolitionist, journalist, eloquent and prophetic spokesman against oppression in its various and sundry guises. THE SETTING.' Ford's Theatre in Washington, D. C., where the man responsible for the emancipation of many of Douglass's sisters and brothers in bondage met his doom. ON STAGE: actress Ruby Dee weaves a forceful commentary on Douglass's life while a flute plays quietly in the background. "Douglass came to the conclusion," she reads, "that freedom for the oppressed could not be won without struggle." As she …

VCU Today, 1972-1988
VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.

Eugene O’Neill Newsletter
The Eugene O’Neill Newsletter is the official newsletter of the Eugene O’Neill Society, an organization of scholars, theater professionals, and enthusiasts, which began meeting in 1978. This publication, created by Suffolk University Professor Fred Wilkins in 1977, started off as part newsletter and part academic journal. In 1989, the publication name was changed to the Eugene O'Neill Review to denote its focus on scholarship. In recent years, the O'Neill Society re-started publication of the newsletter. This site includes newsletter issues from 1977-1989. Newer issues are available on the Eugene O'Neill Society website: https://www.eugeneoneillsociety.org/newsletters.html
