A Fresh Start Through Bankruptcy: Fact Or Frustration For The Student Loan Debtor?, Barbara Linde Jan 1979

A Fresh Start Through Bankruptcy: Fact Or Frustration For The Student Loan Debtor?, Barbara Linde

Seattle University Law Review

The rapidly increasing number of student loans maturing under the relatively new guaranteed student loan program have spawned a dramatic increase in the number of educational loans discharged in bankruptcy. This comment will examine former students' ability to obtain college transcripts after discharge of their student loans through bankruptcy. It will discuss the two cases holding that a private college can deny transcripts to bankrupts, but a state college cannot." Furthermore, it will inquire into the purposes of the Bankruptcy Act, the correctness of the restrictive judicial interpretation of the 1970 amendments," and alternative judicial approaches that better reflect the …

A Comparative Study Of The Performer's Empathic Process In The Arts Of Interpretation And Modern Dance, Patricia Reddinger Geist Jan 1979

A Comparative Study Of The Performer's Empathic Process In The Arts Of Interpretation And Modern Dance, Patricia Reddinger Geist

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

The present study was designed as a comparative analysis of the performer's empathic process in the arts of interpretation and modern dance. The similarity between the performer's empathic process in both arts provided a method for exploring the utility that modern dance offers the interpreter. It was the purpose of this thesis to suggest that training in modern dance provides an experience in expressive movement which develops the interpreter's ability to empathize with the literature.

The performer's experience in modern dance and interpretation involves an empathic response to stimuli presented within the choreography or within the literature. Examination of various …

An Information Processing Approach To Group Performance Of Poetry: Implications For Adaptation And Audience Research, Sandra Highnam

Dissertations and Theses @ UNI

This investigation explores the relationship between a neurological model of information processing and a group performance of poetry. It focuses upon three considerations: construction of a neurological model of information processing, application of this model to group performance of poetry, and implications for adaptation of poetry and audience research.

A neurological model of information processing is constructed which explains perception in terms of the specialized functions of the left and right hemispheres. According to this model, certain aspects of the environment (stimuli) are more efficiently processed by each hemisphere: the left dealing largely with verbal material and the right with …

Now she whirls through the mad mazes of a glamorous ball.

"Indecent" Language: A New Class Of Prohibitable Speech? F.C.C. V. Pacifica Foundation, Robert T. Billingsley

University of Richmond Law Review

Courts in this country have long recognized that the first amendment guarantee of freedom of speech, while written in absolute terms, is not an unyielding bar to all government regulation. The basic question left unresolved, however, is under what circumstances the government may intervene on behalf of itself or its citizens to place restrictions upon the great protected right of communication. Mr. Justice Holmes, speaking for the Supreme Court in Schenck v. United States, indicated that the question was whether the words used would create a "clear and present danger" of bringing about "substantive evils that Congress has a right …
