Computing educators strive to align curricula with workforce needs yet rarely articulate how professional competencies, behaviors, and responsibilities develop across different educational pathways. As the community moves beyond the 2027 curriculum revision cycle, bridge pathways spanning vocational, undergraduate, graduate, and non-computing entry routes are rapidly expanding. At the same time, widespread AI use requires curricula to more explicitly address professional judgment, accountability, and ethical reasoning, in addition to technical skills. This working group brings participants together to map, compare, and synthesize real curriculum and pathway artifacts using shared academic and workforce frameworks. Participants will build a competency-oriented pathway framework, identify …

Services For The Underserved-Mental Health Programs, Inc. V. Nettels

All Decisions

In this holdover in a supportive housing unit alleging objectionable conduct, the court ordered the petitioner to comply with the respondent's demand for a verified bill of particulars. The court rejected the petitioner's argument that a list of the names of people allegedly impacted by the tenant's conduct is evidentiary material beyond the scope of a bill of particulars, applying an important distinction between mere witnesses and content that constitutes the petitioner's prima facie case. The court also held that a bill of particulars is an appropriate vehicle to obtain dates and times of alleged incidents of misconduct.

Compound Multi-Hazard Assessment Under Cmip6 Climate Scenarios: Tracking Seasonal Flood-Landslide And Drought-Fire Interactions Across Nepal, Kripa Shrestha, Karthik Reddy Duddukunta, Pankaj Lal, Md Mehedi Hasan, Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Neera Shrestha Pradhan

Department of Earth and Environmental Studies Faculty Scholarship and Creative Works

Climate-induced hazards in mountain systems rarely occur in isolation, instead they interact through cascading and compounding pathways that single-hazard assessments fail to capture. In Nepal, extreme monsoon rainfall can trigger landslides that dam rivers and generate secondary flooding, while prolonged dry spells create drought, desiccate vegetation fuels, and elevate fire risk. Yet, most regional studies map hazards independently, providing limited insight into how compound zones emerge under climate change. We therefore, develop a seasonal multi-hazard framework that model drought, forest fire, flood, and landslide susceptibility for historical baseline (1991-2020) and future (2021-2100). Three machine learning algorithms (Explainable Boosting Machine, Random …

Are "Different" Employee-Organizational Bonds All That Different? A Review And Comparative Meta-Analysis Reconciling Employee-Organizational Bonds Constructs, Edileide Oliveira, Valeriei Sessa, Wesley Johnson, C Notari, F Vinal, Na Bowling

Department of Psychology Faculty Scholarship and Creative Works

The fundamental human need to bond, connect, or attach to others is as crucial to humankind as the need for food and water, and this inherent drive extends into the workplace as well. Employee-organizational bonds have long been recognized as central to understanding employees' relationships with their organizations. However, questions remain regarding whether several widely studied bond constructs represent empirically distinct phenomena or overlapping conceptual space. The present research examined the distinctiveness of four major employee-organizational bond constructs: organizational commitment, organizational identification, job embeddedness, and perceived organizational support. We reviewed existing meta-analyses and conducted a large-scale comparative meta-analysis spanning more …

Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science Faculty Articles and Research

The spatial and energetic encoding of allosteric regulatory sites remains a major challenge in structural biology, frequently representing a “blind spot” for sequence-based artificial intelligence (AI) models. We present a protein language model (PLM)-guided approach complemented by the energy landscape frustration analysis as a dual-stream framework to investigate the relationship between AI prediction of binding sites and biophysical organization of regulatory pockets across the human kinome. By probing a fine-tuned residue-level PLM classifier across 453 kinase structures, a clear performance gap is discovered between highly predictable orthosteric pockets (Types I, I.5, and II) and poorly resolved distal allosteric sites (Type …

Defensive Publications Series

This technical disclosure details the architecture for an automated, multi-variable, object-oriented data schema and Application Programming Interface (API) designed to execute performance-based curriculum routing without age-segregated grade boundaries. The system structures diverse academic, kinetic, and technical disciplines into standardized, interoperable data objects called Discipline Blueprints. Each blueprint enforces a non-linear advancement pipeline governed by two immutable checkpoints: a zero-assist algorithmic velocity sprint and a physical/systemic product generation milestone. A localized machine learning agent parses real-time telemetry from user interactions, dynamically matching individual cognitive profiles against localized workforce shortages and trade vectors to prevent network drop-out. Crucially, the architecture incorporates an …

From Ai To Alien(S): Universal Alignment Principles And The Architecture Of Inter-Species Communication Metrics, Christopher L. Eckes Jul 2026

From Ai To Alien(S): Universal Alignment Principles And The Architecture Of Inter-Species Communication Metrics, Christopher L. Eckes

Defensive Publications Series

The critical bottleneck in both contemporary Artificial Intelligence (AI) alignment and the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is anthropomorphic bias. Modern AI alignment models rely heavily on human linguistic structures, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and qualitative ethical frameworks. These models degrade rapidly when scaled to non-human or multi-agent networks. Similarly, traditional SETI protocols look for messages encoded in cultural or linguistic formats that assume shared biological or social evolutionary tracks.

This paper introduces a foundational framework for AI-Alien Alignment Principles (AAAP). By treating communication as a problem of non-linear dynamical systems integration, this model establishes Topology, Vector Calculus, …

Interaction Boundary Constraint, Brian Harber Jul 2026

Interaction Boundary Constraint, Brian Harber

Defensive Publications Series

Compositional AI systems increasingly operate through orchestration layers, retrieval mechanisms, external tooling, routing systems, and probabilistic model behavior. Under these conditions, evaluation often occurs through observable interaction surfaces while direct visibility into the full composition producing an interaction remains limited, partial, or absent at the point of interaction.

This paper defines the Interaction Boundary Constraint as a limit on what can be legitimately inferred from interaction surfaces alone under conditions where producing composition is not fully present at the point of interaction. The constraint distinguishes between reconstruction and compositional presence and constrains the scope of claims that interaction-surface evaluation alone …

Dynamic Synthesis And Insertion Of Personalized, Context-Aware Media Segments, Zebeedee Pedersen

Defensive Publications Series

Systems and techniques are described for dynamically generating personalized, context-aware media segments for insertion into media streams. A system can analyze user profile data in conjunction with the primary media content, such as its audio transcript and visual elements, to establish a specific context. A script generation module may then author a new script based on this context, which a multimodal synthesis model can use to create a new audiovisual segment, for instance, employing voice cloning and conditional video generation. This new segment may then be inserted into the primary media stream, such as by manipulating a streaming manifest file, …

Polymer Precipitation Influences Membrane Mechanical Properties Of Small Extracellular Vesicles (Sevs), Bianca Mercado Velez, Eduardo Barbieri, Taravat Sarvari, Erico Freitas, Paul Goetsch, Caryn Heldt

Michigan Tech Research Data

Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) are promising biomarkers and therapeutic delivery vehicles for disease diagnosis and treatment. However, standardizing isolation and characterization techniques is essential, as different isolation methods can alter the biophysical properties of the sEVs. In this study, we compared the physicochemical properties of HEK-293-derived sEVs isolated by polymer precipitation (PP) and sucrose cushion ultracentrifugation (UC). Using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and chemical force microscopy (CFM), we measured the morphology, adhesion, Young’s modulus, and lipid membrane tethering events to understand how the choice of isolation method influences the sEV properties. AFM topographic images revealed the presence of polymeric residues …

Gust-Induced Aerodynamic Performance In Insects' Forward Flapping Flight, Arash Farsani, Ori Stearns, Gal Ribak, Roi Gurka Jul 2026

Gust-Induced Aerodynamic Performance In Insects' Forward Flapping Flight, Arash Farsani, Ori Stearns, Gal Ribak, Roi Gurka

Physics and Engineering Science

Flapping-wing flight is inherently unsteady, where atmospheric gusts can substantially degrade the aerodynamic performance when their characteristic time scales are comparable to the wingbeat period. This study presents a numerical investigation and time–frequency characterization of gust-induced aerodynamic response of flapping wings of varying size, inspired by the flight of a longhorn beetle, Batocera rufomaculata. Geometrically similar wings spanning the biological range were simulated in forward flight under identical prescribed kinematics and a transient frontal gust with a smoothly ramped profile. Three-dimensional unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes simulations using the shear stress transport k–ω turbulence model were performed to resolve the instantaneous pressure …

Integrating Nutrition And Stress Into Life History Stages Of Wild Free-Ranging Female Pronghorn, Cole A. Bleke, Eric M. Gese, Juan J. Villalba, Shane B. Roberts, Susannah S. French

Wildland Resources Student Research

Studies addressing seasonal changes in diet quality and hormones are important for understanding the interactions between ecology and physiology. We collected fecal samples from free-ranging adult female pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) to examine the relationships between indicators of nutrition and glucocorticoid activity. This occurred during three population-level, life-history-correlated sampling periods across five subpopulations. We evaluated nutrition via fecal nitrogen, fecal 2,6-diaminopimelic acid (DAPA), and assessed glucocorticoid activity using fecal glucocorticoid metabolites (FGM). We found positive relationships between fecal nitrogen and DAPA, whereas DAPA and fecal nitrogen with FGM varied in influence and strength, depending upon life history stage. Generally, …
