Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is associated with many risk factors but not all individuals who are exposed to the risk factors develop OSCC. This aspect warrants the need to understand the genetic susceptibility in presence of risk factors. Methods: The study protocol has been registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023422519). The present study included the English-language literature published from January 2000 to April 2024. The articles were searched using keywords via Ovid platform through various databases. The odds ratio was considered as standard measure of outcome. Meta-analysis was carried out using random effects model with RevMan 5.4, establishing a 95% …

The first stage of menopause, known as perimenopause, is signaled by fluctuating or declining hormone levels, irregular menstruation, and the onset of symptoms such as hot flashes and mood changes. Menopause follows this phase, which is 12 consecutive months when no menstrual cycles occur in combination with hormone decline and experiencing additional symptoms (e.g., hot flashes, sleep disturbances). To better understand Utahns’ needs and preferences during and after menopause, Utah State University Extension researchers conducted a needs assessment to inform programming creation and delivery. This report details the results, identifying survey participants, women's sources of information, symptoms, and symptom management.

2020-Current year OA Pubs
BACKGROUND: Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) surveillance is critical for patient safety. Many healthcare systems use electronic algorithms to flag candidate infection events but still require manual chart review to confirm CAUTI cases. We evaluated the use of a large language model (LLM) to enhance CAUTI surveillance.
METHODS: We analyzed 919 potential CAUTI cases flagged by the electronic surveillance algorithm at Barnes-Jewish Hospital from 2021 to 2024. These cases were previously classified as 291 CAUTIs and 628 non-CAUTIs by trained infection preventionists (IPs). Several approaches for applying the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) CAUTI definition after extracting clinical data from …

In this licensee holdover proceeding, Respondent Aaron Dancy claimed succession rights as the nephew of the former tenant and moved for summary judgment. The court granted dismissal, finding that Petitioner's failure to disclose the subject premises' regulatory status under LIHTC, the 420-c Tax Incentive, the J-51 Tax Incentive, and a regulatory agreement prejudiced Respondent by depriving him of information material to his succession claim.

This proposal introduces a fundamentally different way to utilize spectrum under interference conditions by leveraging power redistribution instead of spectrum avoidance. Rather than searching for interference-free tones, the design reduces the number of active tones within a given bandwidth, thereby increasing the power allocated to each tone under fixed PSD constraints. This effectively boosts per-tone SNR, enabling successful transmission even when the entire band appears to be below the noise threshold.
By transforming unusable bandwidth into recoverable SNR margin, this approach challenges the traditional assumption that interference-affected spectrum must be discarded. It operates fully within regulatory PSD limits while extracting …

Devices such as Bluetooth headsets/earbuds/speakers, Mice/keyboards and USB equivalents can be easily misplaced or stolen. Individuals other than the Device’s owner may attempt to use the Device as their own. It is valuable to the Owner for the Device to have a system or systems that can either prevent an unknown user from using the Device, or to guide the Owner to the Device so that it may be recovered, or both.
The solutions available are capable of (1) Cryptographic authentication: devices have built-in cryptographic information which the host authenticates before allowing the connection from devices. This may require TPM …
Environment-Adaptive And Collision-Minimized Bluetooth Channel Allocation In High-Interference Multi-Device Scenarios, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
In environments with high wireless interference, such as office spaces with multiple laptops and overlapping Wi-Fi signals, Bluetooth communication often suffers from frequency collisions and degraded performance. The standard Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) mechanism employed by individual Bluetooth devices is decentralized, requiring each device to perform its own interference scanning and channel adaptation. This results in duplicated overhead and limited visibility of global channel usage, leading to inefficient spectrum utilization and inter-device Bluetooth channel collisions. This invention provides a centralized system and method for managing Bluetooth channel allocation across multiple devices. The most suitable central host PC collects environmental interference …

Bi-Directional Input Bridge For Mapping Limited-Input Device Events To Embedded Web Content, Erica Halpern, Matt Joseph
Defensive Publications Series
A bridging system for bi-directional input bridging that maps limited input device events to embedded web content and bridging system user interfaces. The bridging system implements an SDK module injected into an embedded content frame that intercepts input events before other components in the embedded content frame can process them, creates copies of events and forwards them to the bridging system, maintains a coordinated focus state to enable correct event routing between the bridging system and embedded content, and executes synthetic input events including pointer and mouse events in response to bridging system dispatch messages.

Devices may be used to capture images and videos. For example, a device may include one or more cameras (e.g., image sensors) to capture images and videos of people. When capturing an image or video of a person, exposure parameters for the person’s face may be prioritized by (i) calculating the luma for the facial region and (ii) adjusting the exposure parameters based on an average luma value across the facial region.
Typically, a small region of interest is used to calculate the luma for the facial region. For example, the region of interest may be an initial facial area …
