This study presents a waste-to-interface strategy for engineering high-performance Janus monolithic adsorbents through a circular biorefinery pathway utilizing coffee and rice residues. We demonstrate that a critical loading of 20 wt% biogenic submicron silica into a coffee-derived cellulose diacetate matrix triggers a definitive gravityinduced stratification, transforming a traditional isotropic film into a sophisticated asymmetric architecture. This Janus transition yields a superhydrophilic interface (contact angle < 5◦) and significantly enhances surface porosity, effectively bypassing the diffusion barriers that typically limit homogeneous biocomposites. Methylene Blue adsorption trials reveal that this 20 wt% threshold achieves rapid adsorption kinetics (p < 0.05) by maximizing active-site accessibility. In contrast to conventional powder adsorbents, these monolithic films enable zero-energy manual recovery, entirely eliminating the need for energy-intensive post-treatment separation. By bridging the gap between multi-feedstock valorization and anisotropic materials science, this work provides a scalable blueprint for sustainable, high-flux water remediation

The Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy at Wayne State University Law School is in the process of creating the first-ever comprehensive database of congressional oversight reports for all House and Senate Committees since the 106th Congress (1999–2000). In this article, we place these reports into the broader context of the tools Congress has to conduct oversight in service of its many legislative branch responsibilities under the Constitution. We also explain the development of the database. We conclude the article by discussing how the congressional scholars in this special issue use this database to examine how Congress conducts oversight, and …

In the literature, less attention has been paid to scalable curricular models implemented in small liberal arts colleges. Purpose: Recurrence risk estimates underpin meningioma research, including molecular classification and clinical trial benchmarking, yet are often based on retrospective or historical data. The aim of this study was to assess the variation of recurrence risk estimates across calendar periods, WHO classification editions, geographical settings, and healthcare systems.thetermine METHODS: We analyzed 4,111 patients with primary WHO-1/-2 meningiomas from 31 centers in 15 countries (1990-2019). Recurrence was defined according to local radiological assessment. The 5- and 10-year recurrence risks were estimated using regression standardization with inverse probability of censoring weights, adjusting for key clinical, surgical, and histopathological variables.

Urban roadway flooding in flat metropolitan environments often shows up as small areas of standing water rather than large, flowing floods. In low-gradient urban environments, subtle micro-topographic features—such as pavement crowns, curbs, and localized depressions—often control where surface water accumulates following rainfall. Accurately identifying these localized ponding areas is important for roadway flood screening and infrastructure management. This study develops a LiDAR-based depression mapping framework to identify roadway segments susceptible to surface ponding in flat urban environments. Techniques are proposed herein for detecting and validating recurring failure patterns across a fleet-scale corpus of causal event graphs. A pattern-discovery engine groups taxonomy-normalized node labels and categories, computes support as the number of distinct incident graphs containing a pattern, and classifies retained patterns into new taxonomy categories and known but unvalidated patterns. Engineers confirm or reject ranked patterns through a human-in-the-loop workflow. Confirmed patterns are recorded in a persistent validated-pattern registry that is structurally independent of the graph index and reapplied after index rebuilds. Systems and methods are described that can address this by synchronizing a secondary computing device (e.g., a smartphone, tablet, or wearable device) with a primary display. The primary device may broadcast synchronization data, such as a content identifier and a playback timestamp, to a companion application on the secondary device. Systems and methods are described for mitigating micro-temporal resource congestion in multi-tenant computing environments, where conventional schedulers may not effectively resolve sub-second interference. A decentralized control plane can operate at the node level, using local probabilistic profiling to generate compressed summaries of system behavior. A causal analysis engine can then calculate a correlation coefficient to attribute performance degradation in a affected workload to the resource consumption of a potential source workload. Placing a single citation at the end of a list may create a disconnect between a specific claim and its source, potentially making verification difficult for a user.
