Tulang Fauna Vertebrata Di Situs Gua Kidang, Blora, Jawa Tengah, Ghufron Hidayatullah
Paradigma: Jurnal Kajian Budaya
The research discusses the utilization of vertebrate fauna at the Kidang Cave site to identify the types and variations of vertebrate animals as subsistence and their respective habitats. The analysis was also instrumental in defining the natural landscape of Kidang Cave during the prehistoric era. Faunal fragments were previously analyzed and identified taxonomically and anatomically. The analysis started with re-sortation of faunal bone fragments, classifying and further analyzing the data to obtain the number of identified specimens for each taxon (NISP) and the minimum number of individuals (MNI). From 8,265 bone fragments, only 1,378 were anatomically and taxonomically identifiable. The …

Jurnal Vokasi Indonesia
The dental technician program of Airlangga University teaches and trains aspiring dental technicians. During three years of study, students manufacture dental prostheses such as cobalt chromium coping and acrylic dentures and perform other procedures, such as crown and bridge restoration. However, the use of dental prostheses material might cause respiratory diseases, skin problems, and neurotoxicity. Few respiratory diseases have been reported related to the occupation of dental technician, and epidemiology studies have shown high prevalence of pneumoconiosis linked with exposure duration. Lung function disturbance severity in dental laboratories is affected by some factors, such as the characteristics of workers in …

Dental caries affect 87.4% of Filipinos while 48.3% have periodontal disease. In most developing low-income countries like the Philippines, more than 90% of caries is untreated. Because of the evident disparities in health, high cost of healthcare, unaffordable and unavailable health service, there was a call for reorientation towards prevention on a mass scale by the World Health Organization. This pushed for oral health promotion in schools. Schools give an ideal setting for introducing preventive measures for health with the objective of developing sustainable health promoting behavior change and long-term health outcome improvements. The dental interns from the University of …

The Great Lakes Entomologist
Untreated larval webbing of the mimosa webworm, Homadaula anisocentra stimulated oviposition. Six-week-old webbing was as active as two-day-old webbing. Stimulatory activity of webbing was lost after rinsing with highly polar solvents, but not after rinsing with nonpolar solvents. Addition of the polar solvent rinses did not induce activity in other substrates nor restore activity to rinsed webbing. No differences in structure were found in a scanning electron microscope examination of unrinsed webbing and webbing rinsed with solvents of varying polarity.
Reflections From The Road: Vincentian Hospitality Principles In Healthcare Education For The Indigent, John M. Conry
Reflections From The Road: Vincentian Hospitality Principles In Healthcare Education For The Indigent, John M. Conry
Journal of Vincentian Social Action
Hospitality and health care are clearly connected, both etymologically and practically. Health care has traditionally been delivered in hospitals. Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac developed the concept and practice of Vincentian health care, demonstrating a preferential option for the poor. It is important that those who work in healthcare understand and remain committed to Vincentian and hospitality based health care, particularly for the indigent and marginalized. The need for Vincentian and hospitality-based health care remains relevant and necessary in contemporary society, as there remains health inequity, particularly for the poor.

Biological Distance Between Flexed And Supine Burials At The Ancient Greek City Of Himera Using Dental Nonmetric Data, Jessica Czapla
Ursidae: The Undergraduate Research Journal at the University of Northern Colorado
We investigate potential differences in genetic relatedness of flexed and supine burials from Himera, a Greek colony on Sicily (648-409 BCE), using biodistance analysis of nonmetric dental traits to explore whether locals adopted Greek burial styles, Greek and local customs hybridized, and/or each group maintained distinct burial styles. In other contexts, supine burials have been associated with Greeks, and flexed burials have been interpreted as representing indigenous individuals. Thus, we hypothesize that supine burials will be more closely related to Greeks from Euboea (indirect founders of Himera) and flexed burials will be genetically distinct, possibly representing locals. To test our …

5th National Headache Update, Abdul Malik
Pakistan Journal of Neurological Sciences (PJNS)
Headache is one of the most common disorders worldwide. On the World Health Organization's ranking of causes of disability, this would bring headache disorders into the 10 most disabling conditions for both genders, and into the five most disabling for women. The prevalence of headache disorders in Pakistan is high, and would be at least on par with that reported in other parts of the world, although a recent epidemiological survey suggests that the prevalence of migraines could be as high as 22%, almost twice that noted in the international literature. Over the years, the Pakistan Headache Society (PHS) has …

To our knowledge, this is the second known reported case of ectopic accessory parotid gland fistula in an adult in literature. Congenital parotid duct fistula itself is a rare entity, but even rarer is the occurrence of the fistula in an otherwise healthy adult. A sequential pictorial account has depicted the surgical excision of the fistula in its entirety and histopathology confirmed the parotid fistula. Two months post procedure, the patient continues to be symptom free. We used search engines such as PubMed, Medline, Google Scholar, and Wiley Online library to search published literature

A Spatial Collaboration: Building A Multi-Institution Geospatial Data Discovery Portal, Mara Blake, Karen Majewicz, Ryan Mattke, Kathleen W. Weessies
Collaborative Librarianship
As academic education and research increasingly take advantage of geospatial data and methodologies, we see a corresponding exponential growth in the number of available geospatial resources in the form of GIS datasets and scanned historical maps. However, users can experience difficulty finding these resources due to the unconnected multitude of platforms and clearinghouses that host them. Additionally, the resources are not always well described with web semantic metadata that facilitates discovery. In response to this challenge, The Big Ten Academic Alliance Geospatial Data Project began in 2015 to provide discoverability, facilitate access, and connect scholars to geospatial resources. Our project …
