This letter is particularly interesting because it appears to have been dictated rather than written by the alleged author, which can be determined in part because the confident, educated hand of the letter is completely different from Lawrence's signature. In it, Margaret Lawrence, aunt and guardian of several orphaned children, writes to Forsyth to request his help in seeking money from distant relatives of the children to sustain them until they can earn their own livings.
