Finley Letters

Neff reports that there has been a great scourge in Cincinnati and the deaths and suffering have been alarming. People in apparent good health have fallen in the streets and cannot rise. Opium, calomel, camphor, hot tea, mustard plasters, and turpentine have been administered. Many doctors have fallen from fatigue and exhaustion. 10,000 have left the city. Neff and his family have survived and he hopes conditions will improve. Abstract Number - 132
