Cecilia 'Sue' Sill (b. 1939, Woodward, Oklahoma) recounts a life shaped by mobility, scientific curiosity, and engagement with the natural world of South Texas and Mexico. The daughter of a pipeline welder, she moved frequently as a child before settling for a time in Pharr, Texas, in 1950. She later spent roughly forty years in Corpus Christi, where she raised two sons, pursued higher education later in life, and earned a Ph.D. focused on the systematics of Tillandsia (air plants), describing several new species centered in Mexico.

Public Defenders' Perceptions Of Communication Breakdowns: Supplemental Materials, Katherine Mendez, Linda Jarmulowicz

School of Communication Sciences and Disorders Dataset

This is supplemental data from a study exploring a critical and highly language-dependent component of the criminal-legal system that has not been fully investigated, specifically, the attorney-client relationship and communication that occurs within it.  Using a cross-sectional, descriptive census survey design, this exploratory study investigates whether public defenders notice the characteristics of language disorders among their clients, how they interpret and respond to any resulting communication challenges, and whether communication challenges interfere with their ability to serve their clients.

Decision Advantage In Cognitive Warfare, Part 1, John Murray, Elise Annett, James Giordano

Strategic Insights

This commentary considers how artificial intelligence and rapidly evolving information environments are changing the conditions for military decision advantage. Building on the OODA loop and the expanded dOODAc framework, the authors argue that effective decision-making depends not only on speed and accuracy, but also on maintaining alignment between institutional cognition and an operational environment that continues to change during the decision cycle. The article introduces temporal synchronization as an important dimension of decision advantage in cognitive warfare, highlighting the challenge of keeping military decisions relevant as informational, behavioral, psychological, and social conditions evolve.

This doctoral capstone project, completed during a 14-week Applied Leadership Experience (ALE) with Georgetown-Scott County EMS (GSCEMS), focused on the ACOTE target areas of Program Development and Advocacy by creating an evidence-based, trauma-informed, occupational therapy support group curriculum for motor vehicle accident (MVA) survivors. A literature review and needs assessment identified a significant gap in post-crash care, as many survivors experience long-term psychological challenges—including PTSD, anxiety, depression, fear of driving, and disruptions in daily roles—despite care often emphasizing physical rehabilitation over emotional recovery. Background

Menin inhibitors are targeted therapies approved for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML) with KMT2A rearrangements or NPM1 mutations. Although these agents have shown promising clinical activity, cutaneous adverse events (CAEs) remain poorly characterized. This study describes the clinical presentation, timing, management, and outcomes of CAEs associated with menin inhibitors.

Methods

We performed a single-center retrospective cohort study of patients treated with revumenib or ziftomenib at MD Anderson Cancer Center between January 2024 and July 2026. This research study will investigate the impact of animal-assisted interventions (AAI) on social interaction and communication skills of children or young adults formally diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and/or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) based on self or parent/caregiver report.

Children with ASD and ADHD experience deficits in communication and social participation that limit engagement in meaningful childhood occupations and peer relationships, highlighting the need for alternative, motivating intervention approaches. Animal-assisted interventions may provide a supportive and engaging environment that promotes emotional regulation, joint attention, and social reciprocity, and communication by enhancing participation in daily occupations.

This doctoral capstone project developed a comprehensive, occupational therapy-informed NICU Caregiver Transition Toolkit to support families as they transition from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) to home. The project used clinical observations at the AdventHealth Daytona Beach NICU and AdventHealth Orlando NICU Graduate Clinic, a review of evidence-based literature and existing caregiver education materials, and interdisciplinary collaboration to identify caregiver education needs and guide toolkit development. Educational materials were created in English and Spanish using caregiver-friendly language, visual supports, step-by-step instructions, and QR-code access to digital resources. Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) frequently experience sensory dysregulation that significantly impairs their participation in daily occupations and increases caregiver strain (Lawson et al., 2020; Passarello et al., 2022). Although aquatic therapy has shown promise in improving sensory processing, motor skills, and social participation, there is limited research examining its specific impact on the caregivers’ ability to provide support at home (Butzman et al., 2022; Caputo et al., 2018; Güeita-Rodríguez et al., 2021).

This project was a program development and implementation of an adaptive fitness program for individuals with physical disabilities that integrates occupation. This was done to bridge the gap between adaptive fitness and occupational therapy and highlight the role of occupational therapy in adaptive fitness settings. A needs assessment and activity analysis were completed and used to develop the weekly sessions throughout implementation. The implementation phase was over 6 weeks, with 3 sessions a week.
