Understanding U.S. Customers' Intention To Adopt Robo-Advisor Technology, Deborah Wall
Understanding U.S. Customers' Intention To Adopt Robo-Advisor Technology, Deborah Wall
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Finance and information technology scholars wrote that there is a literature gap on what factors drive investors in Western financial markets to use a Robo-advisor to manage their investments. The purpose of this qualitative, single case study with embedded units is to understand the adoption intentions of retail investors in U.S. markets to use a Robo-advisor instead of a human advisor. A single case study design addressed the literature gap, and qualitative data from seven semi=structured interviews, reflective field notes, and archival data were triangulated to answer the research question. This study was grounded in a theoretical framework that includes …

Many women veterans who navigate the Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare system across the United States have felt that their voices have not been heard regarding their input and lived experiences concerning inclusion to the quality-of-care delivery for their health needs. The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experiences of women veterans who were currently facing or had previously faced difficulty navigating the VA healthcare system. The framework used for this qualitative study was interpretive phenomenological analysis. The qualitative method used was hermeneutics which was designed by Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger. Semi structured interviews were of 12 …
Relationship Between Country Culture, Country Demographics, And Restaurant Electronic Word-Of-Mouth Valence Ratings, Cynthia Roberts Maubert
Relationship Between Country Culture, Country Demographics, And Restaurant Electronic Word-Of-Mouth Valence Ratings, Cynthia Roberts Maubert
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Researchers have documented that country culture and country demographics influence electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) within various industries. Although past research has shown the importance of eWOM to restaurants as a measure of consumer satisfaction, researchers have not established the effect of country culture and country demographics on eWOM within the restaurant industry. Thus, the specific management problem addressed in this quantitative correlational study was the lack of knowledge and understanding regarding the relationship between country culture, country demographics, and restaurant eWOM valence ratings. Grounded in Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory, the research questions addressed six measures of country culture, 12 measures of …
Comparison Of Cultural Self-Efficacy Between Urban And Rural Nurse Educators, Denise Rene Morris
Comparison Of Cultural Self-Efficacy Between Urban And Rural Nurse Educators, Denise Rene Morris
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Integration of an inclusive educational environment requires nursing faculty to embrace a transformational change in academics. The cultural interactions of an educator teaching in an urban district may differ from the relations experienced by a rural nurse educator. The purpose of this quantitative study, guided by Bandura’s social cognitive theory, was to determine whether there is a difference between the cultural self-efficacy scores of nurse faculty teaching in a rural location compared to those in an urban location as well as whether the demographics of age, ethnic background, and years in the nursing profession predict cultural self-efficacy scores. Nursing faculty …

Intersectionality Of Black Women Managers' Experiences With Gendered Racism In Corporate Finance, Venessa Marie Perry
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Experiences of Black women with gendered racism remain a challenge in corporate America. Limited studies explore how Black women experience gendered racism due to the intersectionality of their dual identities. Black women experience chronic stress, burnout, and racial trauma. Disparities among Black women in management positions have gained traction and increased awareness; however, they remain underrepresented in corporate America. This qualitative study involved understanding Black women managers’ experiences with gendered racism in corporate finance. The generic qualitative study used intersectionality theory to illuminate the challenges of the intersecting identities of being a Black woman in corporate finance. Thirteen participants were …

Implicit Motivations In Personality Systems Interactions Predictive Of Burnout In Mental Health Professionals, Yi-Chien Hung
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Burnout among mental health professionals (MHPs) has been of interest to scholars and practitioners since the 1970s. For MHPs, burnout leads to less effective client treatment outcomes, increased turnover rate, and decreased overall wellbeing. Despite a significant body of literature on MHP burnout, there is little literature on how MHPs’ implicit motivations (IMs) may influence and contribute to their burnout. Understanding how IMs correlate with burnout may help with self-awareness and specific therapeutic treatments, both of which are important in preventing and alleviating burnout. Grounded in motive disposition theory, personality systems interaction theory, and theory on dimensions of burnout, this …

Evaluation Of Recovery Level And Surgical Site Infection For Hip Replacement Surgeries, Misha Foster
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Surgical site infection (SSI) is one of the most common healthcare associated infections and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality. Existing studies have focused primarily on perioperative intervention strategies to reduce infection risks following total joint replacement (TJA) procedures. However, postoperative (post-op) SSI risk factors may account for a significant percentage of hospital readmissions due to infections at the surgical site. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the association between post-op recovery level and SSI among patients who underwent primary hip arthroplasty procedures. Using the social ecological model, which conceptualizes health broadly and focuses on …
