Social Support, Employee Engagement, And Turnover Intention Of Hybrid Working Leaders In The Pharmaceutical Industry, Victoria Terrell
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Retaining leaders in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry is a challenge, and leadership attrition can negatively impact a company. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, hybrid work arrangements are used to retain leaders in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry, yet challenges exist with social support and employee engagement within hybrid work. The purpose of this quantitative, correlational study was to examine the relationships, if any, between social support, employee engagement, and turnover intentions among hybrid working leaders in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry. The job demands-resources model and the social exchange theory provided the study’s foundation. The study sample consisted of 245 leaders in middle-management …

This study was conducted to identify the perceptions of experiences of formerly incarcerated individuals who have been actively involved in community-based reentry programming (CBRP). Utilizing a qualitative interview approach with previously incarcerated persons, the study’s focus was to identify the differences in literature, lived experiences, and the connection between CBRP and recidivism through the perceptions of formerly incarcerated persons who have completed CBRP. A key goal was to identify difficulties in the reentry process through the perception of lived experience and offer suggestions for improvements through the lens of actuarial justice. Socioeconomic Status, Obesity, Breast Cancer, And 5-Year Survival Among Men, Taye Oloruntobi Olabode
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Although male breast cancer (MBC) is rare, affecting 2,000 men in the United States each year and comprising approximately 1% of all breast cancer diagnoses, mortality for those diagnosed with MBC is significantly higher than for women diagnosed with breast cancer. Recent research on the disparities in mortality rates between men and women revealed that there may be unexplained factors for the diagnostic disparities between men and women. Bandura’s (1986) SCT was used as the theoretical framework for this quantitative study. The purpose of this quantitative cross-sectional study was to determine whether there was an association between socioeconomic status, obesity, stage …
Military Spouses’ Perceptions Of Family Stress And Resilience During Multiple Relocations, Mauranda Nikki Jones
Military Spouses’ Perceptions Of Family Stress And Resilience During Multiple Relocations, Mauranda Nikki Jones
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
The purpose of this qualitative transcendental phenomenological study was to increase understanding of military spouses’ perceptions of family stress and resilience during multiple relocations. On average, active-duty military families relocate every 2 to 4 years, placing additional stress on them. It has been argued that military spouses, because of their central roles, are uniquely positioned to demonstrate resilience, thus providing an important perspective for this study. Understanding specific risks and resiliency from the perspectives of service members’ spouses can enrich knowledge from which human service professionals can learn. The study was grounded in the resiliency model of stress, adjustment, and …

Childless Mothers: Lived Experiences Of Black Mothers Who Lost An Only Child, Arielle Jordan
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
This qualitative study, grounded in hermeneutic phenomenology, explores the experiences of Black mothers who have lost their only child, addressing a topic often overlooked in counseling training programs. Many counselor educators and supervisors are unprepared to train counselors on how best to support these mothers through their unique grief journeys. Patrol-Level Law Enforcement Experiences With Gray Area Mental Health Crises, Stephanie Louise Schilling
Patrol-Level Law Enforcement Experiences With Gray Area Mental Health Crises, Stephanie Louise Schilling
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Law enforcement officers (LEOs) often find themselves responding to mental health crises that are gray area situations that neither clearly warrant arrest nor hospitalization but still require intervention. This qualitative study involved addressing the critical issue of how patrol-level officers in California manage such crises despite limited mental health training and restrictive legal frameworks. The study involved filling a gap in literature by focusing on nuanced challenges officers face in these situations, rather than use of force or racial disparities. Grounded in Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological model, the research involved exploring lived experiences of six patrol-level officers using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). …
Moderating Effect Of Urban/Rural Status, State Of Residence, And Health Risk Factors On Maternal Mortality Among Different Races, Emmanuel Agubata
Moderating Effect Of Urban/Rural Status, State Of Residence, And Health Risk Factors On Maternal Mortality Among Different Races, Emmanuel Agubata
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Maternal mortality in the United States is significantly higher than in most developed nations and has been increasing since 2000. Persistent between-group disparities among White, Black, and Hispanic women occur in terms of maternal mortality; however, the reason for this is largely unknown. Using the intersectionality theory, this quantitative study examined if racial groups predicted maternal mortality and to what extent relationships were moderated by geographic area and health risk factors. This nonexperimental correlational historical research design addressed three research questions. The Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project dataset was used for the analysis. The minimum sample size was 988 cases, …

Success Factors Linking New Environmental Products With Academic Knowledge And Firm Knowledge Partnerships: An Examination Of Biosurfactant Decision-Making Complexity, Cecilia Akinyi Wandiga
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
Business managers risk failure if they do not correctly integrate academic knowledge transfer with their firms’ investments and their absorptive capabilities to generate viable industrial designs for new products. The purpose of this quantitative, correlational study was to test the relationship between nine academic-industry collaboration factors and the number of new products that firms generate. Three theoretical frameworks formed the basis of the completed study: (a) the quintuple helix, (b) the natural resource based view theory, and (c) the circular bioeconomy. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the relationship between nine academic-industry success factors and the number of new …
