This research explored the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault among students at U.S. colleges and universities, aiming to quantify incident rates and assess their impact on academic and psychological well-being. Grounded in socioecological and intersectional theories, the research examined how environmental interactions and interconnected social identities shape individual experiences. Specifically, this research explored (a) the link between the percentage of female students and the prevalence of sexual violence on campuses; (b) how the proportion of first-generation students relates to sexual violence prevalence; (c) the connection between campus size and rates of sexual violence; and (d) whether gender makeup, first-year …
Enhancing Antitrafficking Initiatives Through An Interagency Collaboration Framework, Robert Louis Baxter
Enhancing Antitrafficking Initiatives Through An Interagency Collaboration Framework, Robert Louis Baxter
Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
The challenges individual agencies face in addressing the complex issue of human trafficking and how interagency collaboration can strengthen survivor-centered support are largely unknown. Organizations often lack formal alliances that combine expertise and resources to deliver more comprehensive care. The absence of such partnerships represents a missed opportunity to provide the essential services necessary for survivors’ recovery, empowerment, and social reintegration. The purpose of the study was to use interagency collaboration to address the question: How can education, law enforcement, public health, and community-based organizations assess the barriers and benefits of interagency collaboration to create a more seamless support network …

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies
This doctor of nursing practice (DNP) project addresses a critical issue in outpatient mental health care: transportation barriers faced by adult mental health patients, particularly older adults. These barriers contribute to high no-show rates, which disrupt care continuity, worsen mental health outcomes, and increase reliance on emergency services. The project proposes the implementation of a structured transportation assistance program to enhance appointment adherence and reduce missed visits resulting from transportation challenges. The practice-focused question guiding this project is: In adult mental health patients with transportation barriers, does implementing a structured transportation assistance program improve appointment adherence rates over a 12-week …
