The study emphasizes the need for a deeper understanding of secondary school teachers' experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly focusing on their challenges during the transition back to in-person instruction after teaching online. The purpose of this phenomenological study explored the experiences of U.S. secondary teachers during the onset of COVID-19, the shift to virtual teaching, and the return to in-person instruction. This doctoral project was an evidence-based staff education intervention designed to improve healthcare team knowledge, attitudes, and clinical practices related to the management of uncontrolled hypertension within a federally qualified health center (FQHC). The practice problem addressed was the persistent challenge of uncontrolled hypertension among patients receiving primary care services, which contributes to increased risk for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and preventable health disparities. Mentorship and professional networking opportunities are commonly used to support women’s professional growth; however, inequities in leadership attainment remain prevalent, particularly among women from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds. Inconsistent use of standardized whiteboards in patient rooms may contribute to ineffective nurse communication and lower patient experience scores. This Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project evaluated whether an evidence-based staff education program improved nursing knowledge, intent to use standardized whiteboards, and whiteboard utilization on a medical-surgical unit. Guided by the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) instructional design model, the intervention included a standardized educational presentation, pre- and post-education knowledge assessments, a workflow integration guide, competency validation, and weekly compliance audits. This staff education project addressed inconsistent Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) administration and documentation at mental health watch initiation and discharge in a correctional setting. A baseline audit showed 42.1% PHQ-9 documentation compliance (8 of 19 charts), below the 90% organizational benchmark, limiting objective depression severity data needed for clinical decision-making and safe transitions. It was motivated by the realization that depression is often under-recognized when standardized screening practices are not consistently implemented. Social workers report limited formal training in trauma-informed approaches, and implementation of trauma-informed care varies widely across settings, with inconsistent training uptake and organizational support for sustained practice change. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of social workers in trauma-informed training. The study was guided by trauma-informed care principles and an experiential learning framework. Evidence-based practice was the basis for this quality improvement project, which involved developing and implementing a staff education program to enhance nurses' competency in administering, scoring, and interpreting behavioral health screening tools (PHQ-9 and GAD-7) for outpatient mental health services. Adolescent obesity persists as a critical public health challenge in the United States, with Black and Hispanic adolescent females experiencing elevated rates. Adolescent obesity contributes to serious long-term health risks, but provider counseling may support body mass index (BMI) management. The disproportionately high prevalence of obesity among African American young adults is a significant public health crisis rooted in systemic inequities. The purpose of this quantitative cross-sectional study was to examine the relationships between internet use for health information, perceived social support (online and offline), and obesity in this population. Emotional competence is essential for effective clinical practice, professional development, and client care. However, limited research has examined how emotional competence develops among students in fully online doctoral clinical psychology programs. This qualitative descriptive phenomenological study explored how students enrolled in online doctoral clinical psychology programs experience the development of emotional competence during clinical field training. Guided by Goleman’s emotional competence framework, the lived experiences of doctoral students as they developed emotional awareness, emotional regulation, empathy, and relationship management skills was examined.
