Today a challenge faces the school administrators, supervisors, and teachers. If they are to continue as vital factors in a Democracy, then they must assume the new problems which social and economic conditions have caused to arise in our present day society. A planned program of guidance is the educator's answer to that challenge.
In this thesis an attempt is made to propose a program of guidance and to explain methods which are suggested in the texts and syllabi on this subject. The ultimate aim is the preparation of a correlated guidance program for the secondary schools of North Dakota. …

The Influence Of Some Alkali Salts In The Presence Of Various Concentrations Of Calcium On The Growth Of Sporobolus Cryptandrus, Vaughn A. Clayton

This study deals with the reactions of Sporobolus cryptandrus to various concentrations of Utah's most common alkali salts. Its purpose is to determine the effects of various concentrations of sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, and sodium sulphate on the growth and fruiting of Sporobolus cryptandrus, and to determine to what extent, if any, various levels of calcium exert a protective influence against the toxicity of these three salts. In addition to the experimental work a field of study was conducted for the purpose of determining the concentrations of total salts found in soils supporting a good growth of Sporobolus cryptandrus.

A Comparative Study Of The Methods Employed In The Teaching Of Oral English, Russell Tooze

This thesis deals with the methods employed in the teaching of Oral English in the secondary schools. Material for this study has boon secured from several books, magazines, educational journals, personal letters, and questionnaires. As a basis of what a good course in Oral English should be several letters from selected speech authorities were used. The results of this survey have been tabulated in this study. A dally assignment schedule that was followed throughout this investigation has been set forth in this thesis. The actual material used in this study has been presented in Appendix A.

This work is presented for the purpose of contributing to a more accurate understanding of woman's place in the philosophy of Mormonism, and as a basis for further study on this problem.
The writer has not attempted to prove any particular hypothesis regarding Mormon women but has presented data which give an historical account of woman's status in the Church and among Mormon people during the first fifteen years of the organization of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In writing this thesis I have emphasized the qualities of vigor, ability and foresight that Churchill showed to such a statesmanlike degree in the last war, also the special technical training in ships, tanks, planes and their use that he gained. I have endeavored to point out in what ways these have qualified him for his role as Prime Minister of England in the present war. I have brought out his connections with American life through his family, his books and lectures, and his work as munitions minister.
