This study develops a dependent component cost risk model validation methodology and applies it to the Air Force Risk Model. The validation process consists of ensuring that logically consistent input parameters are acted on properly by the cost risk methodology. users of all dependent component risk models must be concerned with logically consistent input parameters. Two criteria define logical consistency. The first is the correlation matrix consistency and the second is the consistency between pairs of cost distributions. The purpose of this thesis was to examine the logistics support provided by the United States Air Force (USAF) for F-16 aircraft owned by foreign countries. The research drew from historical trends and personal experiences to examine the ability of the U.S. to provide logistics support for F-16 aircraft owned by U.S. allies. The study found that timely, efficient support of FMS customers possessing F-16 aircraft does not appear to be a principal concern of the USAF logistics system. Complexity of processes, untimely responses, and failure to consider customer needs are common failings on the part of the USAF.

This study set out to determine if the United States Air Force strategic defense doctrine requires changing. The researcher applied contextual content analysis to selected foreign policy statements taken from Presidential State of the Union addresses to determine if past doctrine and strategy changes were evidenced by the context and emphasis scores generated by the Minnesota Contextual Content Analysis (MCCA) software package used for this study. Use of the student's t-test showed differences in mean scores between years with no strategy or doctrinal changes and those in which such changes are documented. This study applied a screening technique methodology to systematically obtain organizational consensus in the establishment and ranking of Army surface transportation performance measurement criteria and system design attributes. This performance evaluation model was then used to assess the feasibility of three potential liquid propellant logistics concepts. Two sample groups of subject matter experts from the Army's Transportation and Ordnance (Munitions) Corps participated in the research. The values considered include obedience to superiors, professional competence, and elements of just war theory such as proportionality and discrimination. This study sought to highlight the evolution of certain trade practices in U.S.-international arms trade. Limited to the eighties, the study divided the decade into two halves: 1980-84 and 1985-89. For each of the nine trade practices considered, period profiles for the two halves were developed and subsequently compared. The population consisted of the eighteen largest (by dollar value) sales of the decade. They included Air Force, Navy and Army systems. North Dakota women served in the United States Army and Navy Nurse Corps during World War I as Red Cross Reserve nurses. In 1935 the North Dakota American Legion Auxiliary collected and compiled, in manuscript form, brief biographies of these women and placed the manuscript at the North Dakota State Library in Bismarck. This paper is an attempt to describe the circumstances surrounding North Dakota nurses' participation in World War I.

This study developed a fully automated formulation control system, capable of controlling a number of like or dissimilar aircraft in maneuvering formation flight. C-130 fixed wing aircraft and H-53 helicopters were modelled in various formulations and simulated through a mix of maneuvers. External formation guidance was assumed as a single data burst of nominal function guidance commands and separation distances for each wing aircraft in the formation. No communication was assumed between formation aircraft. Wing aircraft track lead aircraft maneuvering with an ideal on-board sensor, maneuvering to maintain relative position. This study investigated the effectiveness of the Least Means Squared (LMS) algorithm against various types of common jammers. The LMS algorithm was implemented using the Block Oriented Systems Simulator (BOSS). The LMS algorithm was inserted at the output of a two element antenna array. The array was configured so as to have one-half wavelength spacing. A quadrature hybrid signal structure was used. The array was then tested against a barrage and sweep jammer. This study used integrated circuit microsensors to detect organophosphorus compounds. Chemically-sensitive thin films, copper phthalocyanine, DFPase, succinyl chloride, succinylcholine chloride, 2- naphthol(B), and L-histidine dihydrochloride,were deposited on interdigitated gate electrode (IGE) structures, with an average thickness of 2000A. Thin film electrical performance characteristics were measured for several parameters, including: DC resistance, AC impedance, time-domain, and spectral responses from 10 Hz to 1 MHz. Each microsensor contained nine IGEs; each IGE possessed an in situ field-effect transistor amplifier.
