The Integration Of Three Multihandicapped Children Into Regular Classrooms: A Focus On Educational Personnel, Marva Dombrowe Gellhaus

This study used qualitative research methods to determine what happened when special educators and regular educators came together in the process of integrating three multihandicapped students into a kindergarten or a first grade classroom. Of particular interest were the actions, interactions, and perceptions of the people involved.

The writer spent two months at the field site which was located in an elementary school in a rural agricultural region in the Great Plains. Although observations were made of the children and the educational personnel, only the educational personnel and the parents were interviewed.

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the attitudes and opinions of personnel affected by two office automation systems. Reprographics Automated Management System (RAMS) and Records Information Management System (RIMS). A Survey In Hard Times: Work Attitudes Of North Dakota State Employees, Michael D. Dorsher

A telephone survey with a random sample of 317 is used to measure the work attitudes, experiences, and satisfaction levels of North Dakota state employees. These findings are compared to bureaucratic stereotypes and research. The data refute most negative stereotypes about bureaucrats, and support many previous research findings, such as the positive relationships between job satisfaction and income, status, and fulfilled expectations. The data also indicate state employees voted heavily for tax hikes in the Dec. 5, 1989, special election, and that support rose with the income, job status, and education level of employees. The nursing profession is not exempt from constantly changing theories, practices, and environment. Recent literature suggests a great interest in turnover, stress, and job satisfaction of staff nurses. To date, the field of organization development (OD) has lacked the kind of unifying approach to theory and practice that would enable it to be considered a discipline. The present study, in conception and methodology, commences building a unified framework for OD based on the work of psychiatrist and natural scientist Wilhelm Reich (1897-1957). This study investigated the financial performance of not-for-profit hospitals in 10 Southern states acquired by either the for-profit or not-for-profit multihospital systems between the years 1978 through 1982. The impact of system affiliation on acquired hospitals was investigated by looking at average financial performance from the two years before acquisition to 1984/1985. Differences between the performance of hospitals acquired by for-profit and not-for-profit multihospital systems were examined as well. with regard to the latter, major findings revealed both for-profit and not-for-profit multihospital systems increased debt in acquired hospitals and made improvements to plant and equipment. The Problem: This study was designed to assess the attitudes of selected teachers in North Dakota schools serving Native American students toward current and ideal instructional supervision and staff evaluation. Teacher attitudes were also compared on the basis of age and school type.

Procedure: One hundred classroom teachers participated in a survey designed to assess teacher attitudes and perceptions toward current and ideal instructional supervision and staff evaluation processes. Resulting data were statistically tested for significant differences at the .05 level. Stress induced burnout among special education specialists has become a concern of administrators. This study was conducted to investigate burnout among the rural itinerant and non-itinerant specialists specifically.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate the extent of burnout among rural itinerant and non-itinerant specialists and the relationship of selected demographic and situational variables to this burnout. The relationship of role ambiguity and role conflict to burnout of this group was also investigated.

The study purpose was to learn the perceived general desirability and also the perceived specific feasibility of nineteen alternative educational delivery ideas, many of which required inter-district cooperation. The population included individuals who had formally served the fifty-two school districts of northwestern Minnesota as representatives for areawide educational planning, or as superintendents of schools, or as both superintendents and representatives. The instrument used to gather data was based upon delivery ideas which resulted from long-range educational planning activities. Purpose: This study is postulated on the theory that a direct relationship exists between organizational climate and educational change. The primary purpose of the study was to analyze the relationships between organizational climate and educational changes in selected high schools. A further purpose was to determine if there were significant differences between the principals' and faculties' profile scores on each of the eight subtests of the Organizational Climate Description Questionnaire (OCDQ).

The study also attempted to determine which set of selected teacher biographical variables contributed most to the predictability of each subtest score of the OCDQ.
