A Study On The Ethical Implementation Of Radio Frequency Identification Technology In Retail, Aaron Ingoglia

Theses and Dissertations

Long checkout lines at the grocery store can be very frustrating. Thanks to point-of-sale technology though, those lines aren't nearly as long as they could be. Point-of-sale technologies have been developed and implemented worldwide to help reduce the amount of time it takes a consumer to pay for products at the cash register. These technologies have also aided retailers and manufacturers in achieving higher levels of efficiency. Bar codes, for example, were first developed to decrease the amount of time required to purchase an item, improve the tracking of inventory, accelerate the acquisition of important statistical data, and facilitate market …

"Faking Good" Response Patterns On The Mmpi-2 And The Child Abuse Potential Inventory, Stephen V. Flynn

Theses and Dissertations

A significant problem for forensic evaluations is the large number of clients who respond in a defensive manner. The present study examined defensive responding patterns on two self-report measures, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2) and the Child Abuse Potential Inventory (CAP). Subjects were child welfare clients undergoing a parental capacity evaluation. It was hypothesized that subjects would be less likely to attempt to portray themselves in an unrealistically positive manner (fake good) on the MMPI-2 than the CAP since the CAP items are more concerned with matters of child abuse and the MMPI-2 questions are primarily focused on Axis …

I wanted to know why we had so many and the other unit didn't have any so I started to do a literature search on ventilator related pneumonia. I found new research about the importance of oral care so I met with the representative from the company we used for oral care. He informed me that they had a line …

Perceptions Of Nurse-Physician Collaboration: A Rural/Urban Comparison, Erin L. Gibbons May 2005

Perceptions Of Nurse-Physician Collaboration: A Rural/Urban Comparison, Erin L. Gibbons

Theses and Dissertations

Physicians and nurses are major members and central to the healthcare team, thus, it is reasonable to advocate for collaboration between these two disciplines. However, prior to this advocacy, it is essential to identify perceptions of collaboration among nurses and physicians before any possible interventions can be implemented. Thomas' conceptual model for collaboration guided this study. This model suggests a person uses one of five modes in resolving conflict: …

Perceptions Of North Dakota Registered Nurses Regarding Advance Directives, Nichole A. Fritel

Theses and Dissertations

One of the functions of nurses is to assist individuals to achieve a peaceful death. In order to fulfill this role, patient end-of-life wishes must be communicated to family members and health care providers. Since passage of the Patient Self-Determination Act (PSDA) in 1990, advance directives have served as the legal vehicle and communication tool for bringing about an understanding of these wishes, should the patient be unable to competently speak for him/herself. Unfortunately, although the majority of Americans favor the provisions that living wills and health care powers of attorney contain, only a small fraction actually complete advance directives. …
