The purpose of this study was to explore child welfare workers' opinions as to what the barriers are in implementing the Indian Child Welfare Act of 1978. The results will contribute to social work practice by addressing the fact that Native Americans represent a disproportional amount of youth and families serviced by Child Welfare and ICWA.

The purpose of this study is to explore the application of choice theory as an effective form of therapy for populations that include the troubled youth. Choice Theory was innovated by renowned psychiatrist, Dr. William Glasser, in 1998, and in part, helps to promote an individual's positive self concept and self esteem. Glasser believes that success in our schools depends upon the student having a positive self concept.

This correlational descriptive research was focused on the Lesbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) youth within the foster care system. Specifically it studied how the demographic factors of age, race, sexual identity, and refferal source impact their lengths of stay in a group home and discharge destinations. It is hoped that the findings will assist further research and lead to greater success in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable population within the scope of social work practice.

The purpose of this study was to attempt to discern whether or not relationships exist between type and severity of ones disability and ones desire for a cure. The question this paper addressed is whether or not the type of disability a person has and the severity of it affects his or her identity, and ultimately, acceptance or rejection of a cure. The research project focused on the perceptions of breast cancer patients on addressing sexuality-related issues to their health care provider. A female breast cancer survivor is likely to have low sexual functioning when experiencing change in hormonal status, problems in partner relationships, and vaginal dryness. Moreover, women who undergo a mastectomy due to breast cancer had difficulties in their self-image and their sexual relationship with men.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility that students who spend more time in a Montessori environment exhibit higher levels of self-efficacy than children who have more of their school career exposed to traditional education methods. This study used a nonprobability convenience sampling where participants were selected using a volunteer process. The purpose of this study was to measure whether or not a child welfare worker's education has an effect on their client's outcomes. It compares master's degree in social work caseworkers' rates of family reunification and the length of time children on their caseload spend in foster care to those of child welfare workers who do not have an MSW. This study sought to address this gap in the current literature by analyzing available case data from a public child welfare agency in a Southern California county.
