The Integration Of An Information Processing System: A Case Study Based At The Lodge At Woodcliff, Robert Sweeney
The Integration Of An Information Processing System: A Case Study Based At The Lodge At Woodcliff, Robert Sweeney
Theses
To make the claim that one provides 'World Class' service is easy. Supporting that claim is not so easy if you do not have the proper tools. The Lodge at Woodcliff, a resort hotel in Rochester, New York claims to provide 'World Class' service, but does not have the facts or tools to produce the facts to support this claim. Data has been collected related to service quality throughout the resort. This action research will attempt to integrate an information processing system at the Lodge at Woodcliff. Post Service Customer Satisfaction Measurement, Jason Karr
Post Service Customer Satisfaction Measurement, Jason Karr
Theses
This study provides restauranteurs with information on how to create, implement and evaluate a strategy of customer satisfaction measurement after the service has been delivered and the respective patrons have left the establishment. By measuring and evaluating customers perceptions of the quality of service they received, an organization can determine how they are doing both internally and externally. Application of this information into the business environments will ultimately effect the "moments of truth" with the customers by promoting a better organizational understanding of the customers' wants and needs as well as identifying areas of service that require adjustments.

Hazelwood School District V. Kuhlmeier: The Battle For First Amendment Freedom, Robert J. Dirksen
Theses
The Spectrum, the student newspaper of Hazelwood East High School, St. Louis, Missouri, was censored on May 13, 1983, by Principal Robert Reynolds. Reynolds deemed two articles unsuitable for the younger students, especially fourteen year old freshmen: one an article describing the experiences of three teenage pregnant students at Hazelwood East, which did not in Reynolds' view sufficiently disguise the identity of the three students; and a second article, which identified by name (later deleted pre-publication) students who had made derogatory remarks concerning their parents' divorce and alcohol problems. The staff of the Spectrum was not apprised of the deletion …

Conveyor Tracking Using Adept Robot With Vision Guidance System, Chen-Yu Wang
Theses
This thesis examines the integration of the robotic assembly workcell and the capability of the AdeptOne SCARA robot in performing both non-vision and vision based conveyor tracking. An experiment is set up for a Plastic Leadless Chip Carrier, or PLCC, chip and socket assembly operation. A PLCC chip is a square-shape integrated circuit that has its pins bent down around its perimeter to prevent damage to the pins during assembly and transportation. Binary image processing is employed by the vision system to recognize the random locations of incoming PLCC chips at the upstream location of the conveyor. When at least …

Use Of Conductance Technology To Determine The Bioactivity Of Oxytetracycline-Hydrochloride, Michael Mc Donagh
Theses
The biological activity of oxytetracycline-hydrochloride was investigated using the indirect conductivity method which is based on the measurement of metabolically generated CO2. A number of laboratory strains and a fresh natural inoculum were exposed to oxytetracycline in the presence and absence of 12% sterile sediment. Results comparing sediment and sediment free systems for all test cultures revealed elevated minimum inhibitory concenrations (MIC) of the agent in the presence of sediment; percentage bioactivity results ranged between 0.50 and 2.07%. pH differences betw'een sediment and sediment-free systems were found not to effect MIC results, and the use of different buffers resulted in …

Nursing Home Management Of The Certified Nurse's Aide: Voluntary Job Turnover, Job Satisfaction, And An Overview Of Industry Challenges With Proven Solutions, Kevin G. Sullivan
Theses
This thesis will focus on the issues surrounding the voluntary turnover rate of the certified nurse's aide population. Research has attributed the high turnover rate to numerous factors such as inadequate monetary compensation, lack of job satisfaction, difficulty in being promoted, inattention of management to the relevant issues, and the failure of management to use proven solutions utilized by other non- health care businesses in attracting and retaining qualified and desirable employees.
With annual turnover rates of the certified nurse's aide population estimated in the 100% to 300% range, the magnitude of the problem cannot be disputed. However, with the …

Development Of Effective Computer Tutorial Documentation, Sheryl L. Fields
Development Of Effective Computer Tutorial Documentation, Sheryl L. Fields
Theses
This thesis will focus on the study of developing effective tutorial documentation.
In the past, computer documentation was written almost exclusively by engineers and programmers (or other highly trained personnel). Because of this, it was referential rather than tutorial, and it tended to assume the audience had a high level of technical knowledge and expertise. People using computers today come from a wide variety of backgrounds, many of them not technical. These users need tutorial manuals that are written in every day language and that emphasize what the user does, not what the machine or the program does.
The instructions …
