Computer Synthesis Of Spectroradiometric Images For Color Imaging Systems Analysis, Garrett M. Johnson
Computer Synthesis Of Spectroradiometric Images For Color Imaging Systems Analysis, Garrett M. Johnson
Theses
A technique to perform full spectral based color calculations through an extension of OpenGL has been created. This method of color computations is more accurate than the standard RGB model that most computer graphics algorithms utilize. By maintaining full wavelength information in color calculations, it is also possible to interactively simulate and display many important color phenomena such as metamerism and fluorescence. This technique is not limited to creating simple images suitable for interactive display, however. Using this extension, it is also possible to synthesize spectroradiometric images of arbitrary spatial and spectral resolution, for use in color imaging system analysis.

Discrete-Time Continuous-Dilation Construction Of Linear Scale-Invariant Systems And Multi-Dimensional Self-Similar Signals, Wei Zhao
Theses
This dissertation presents novel models for purely discrete-time self-similar processes and scale- invariant systems. The results developed are based on the definition of a discrete-time scaling (dilation) operation through a mapping between discrete and continuous frequencies. It is shown that it is possible to have continuous scaling factors through this operation even though the signal itself is discrete-time. Both deterministic and stochastic discrete-time self-similar signals are studied. Conditions of existence for self-similar signals are provided. Construction of discrete-time linear scale-invariant (LSI) systems and white noise driven models of self-similar stochastic processes are discussed. It is shown that unlike continuous-time self-similar …

Improving The Run Time Of The Decomposition Algorithm For Fault Tolerant Clos Interconnection Networks Through Swap Re-Ordering, Andrea Laura Mcmakin
Improving The Run Time Of The Decomposition Algorithm For Fault Tolerant Clos Interconnection Networks Through Swap Re-Ordering, Andrea Laura Mcmakin
Theses
Clos interconnection networks, used in data networks and computing systems, can contain extra switches to be used in faulty conditions. The speed of such fault tolerant Clos interconnection networks is improved through the use these switches in no-fault situations. The network can be represented by a matrix, which is then decomposed using an algorithm, and the switch settings are thus assigned.
The original decomposition algorithm consisted of four element swaps in the following order: wild swap, simple swap, next simple swap, and successive swap. However, by re-arranging these swaps with the simple swap first, followed by the next simple and …

Competition Of Copper, Lead, And Cadmium Adsorption To Goethite, Chris A. Christophi
Competition Of Copper, Lead, And Cadmium Adsorption To Goethite, Chris A. Christophi
Theses
Competition of copper, lead, and cadmium adsorption on goethite depends on metal ion and oxide surface characteristics. Goethite was characterized via X-ray diffraction, potentiometric titrations, site density determination, particle size analysis, and optical microscopy. In this thesis, a hypothesis was tested that electronegativity is the most important factor in metal affinities and adsorption competition to goethite.
Metal affinity and site density for the goethite surface were assessed by performing adsorption edges and isotherms. Based on the results of these experiments, competition studies were designed to observe adsorption and displacement of the competing metals by limiting the number of available sites …
Requirement Elicitation And Knowledge Management Utilizing Relational Database, Client Server And Internet Technologies, Umang J. Dave
Requirement Elicitation And Knowledge Management Utilizing Relational Database, Client Server And Internet Technologies, Umang J. Dave
Theses
The first step in any project is a statement of requirements. Requirements specification is an inevitable part of any successful project. However, the "rush" to convert concepts to products often proves as a big hindrance in the development process of any requirements set. This, in turn, hampers the ability to produce the concept and manage knowledge as originally envisioned.
The goal of the thesis is to foster understanding among the different communities affected by the development of the given system. The thesis is based on the principle that the requirements elicitation process for complex system is fundamentally a conversation among …

Process Modeling Using Proslcse On Web-Enabled Platform, Orcan Ali Enunlu
Theses
Process modeling is a relatively complex task that needs to be addressed from a different point of view. The classical approach would be to design the model, to send it for evaluation, then to return feedback to the developing team, and to reevaluate the model with the feedback received from the parties involved.
However, it is our understanding that the steps taken during the process modeling could benefit from the advantages that the Internet offers. To demonstrate the usefulness of Internet in process modeling, I have taken an existing tool, ProSLCSE, and implemented it with Java so that it can …

Measurement Of The Baroreceptor Sensitivity Index (Brsi) In The Frequency Domains, Tanvir Raquib
Theses
Time domain analysis for calculating the Baroreceptor Sensitivity Index (BRSI) did not always provide an accurate result. It also had another limitation in that it could not show the influence of the autonomic nervous system for different subjects. The correlation coefficient is a mechanism that was used to either accept or reject the BRSI values in the time domain but the correlation coefficient values changed drastically depending on how many sample points were selected for the calculation.
On the other hand, frequency domain analysis for the BRSI calculation was relatively easier and provided more accurate information compared to the time …
