This study was intended to explore how to enhance Chinese junior high school students' interest in physical education classes and develop lifelong exercise habits through assembled multifunctional exercise equipment. By combining traditional exercise equipment with interactive software, new teaching possibilities for physical education for middle school students were explored. For this case study, the test participants were physical education teachers and students in China. By comparing the designed exercise models with traditional exercise equipment in terms of functionality, material comfort, and attractiveness, the discussion results showed that students had a positive relationship between enhancing physical activity and using the new …

This thesis focuses on the recent work (Tombstone, 2019) by Brian Jungen, a Canadian artist of mixed European and Dane-zaa heritage. The work is explored in detail, leveraging concepts present in Jungen’s existing body of work to extract intent and meaning through Jungen’s complex use of space, materiality, and iconography. Tombstone is a large scale, multimedia sculpture consisting of white plastic Rubbermaid stepstools cut and assembled into the form of a turtle or tortoise shell resting on a bank of thirty-seven black filing cabinets. This study attempted to determine if a low-cost, minimally time consuming intervention could increase document completion – specifically end of shift reports. Using a concurrent multiple baseline design, automated phone calls reminded staff to complete their end of shift reports. Participants were the staff members at 16 group homes. All participants were trained Direct Support Professionals. The dependent variable was completion of end of shift reports as a percent of opportunities. There was a measurable response to the intervention. Overall, the percent of completion increased from 4% in baseline to 22% during intervention. The agency desired a much higher response …

In October 2021, New York State (NYS) Governor Kathy Hochul signed into law legislation enacting the Restaurant Meals Program (RMP) to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The RMP is an extension of SNAP, allowing eligible SNAP recipients to spend their benefits at restaurants. The goal of the RMP is to allow a targeted SNAP population—the elderly, disabled, and homeless—to have greater accessibility to purchase prepared, low-cost, hot meals that would otherwise be out of reach. The activation of the endothelin receptor type A (ETAR) by its ligand endothelin-1 (ET-1) is well known for its role in vasoconstriction. Interestingly, ET-1 and ETAR are over-expressed in various human tumours, including breast cancer. Several studies described the important role of ETAR in cancer progression and metastasis.
