Experimental Study Of Performance Of Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithms, Alec Berenbaum
Experimental Study Of Performance Of Minimum Spanning Tree Algorithms, Alec Berenbaum
Theses
Throughout the study of various theories of algorithms much work has been done in the area of traversal and solving optimization problems on graphs. Some of this work includes studies of finding the Minimal-Cost Spanning Trees (MST) in directed and undirected connected graphs. Several algorithms have been developed for such task. These algorithms tend to differ in performance based on various factors, such as graph density, size of problem spaces, range of weights that can be assigned to the edges of the graphs, edge weight distributions, etc. The data structures used by an algorithm can have a significant impact on …

The Feasibility Of Atm Operations Over High Frequency Radio And The Viability Of The Atm/Hf Architecture, Paul Giovanni
Theses
High Frequency (HF) radio is still a vital part of communications networks because its low cost and long distance capabilities, and still plays important roles as primary, supplemental, or redundant backup systems. Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is increasingly becoming an important part of communications, especially with LAN Emulation (LANE) specifications. Add to this the importance and increasing interest and dependency upon wireless networking, and it becomes inevitable that research into mobile ATM networking over HF radio would be considered. To test the feasibility of ATM networking over HF radio it was decided that a simulation would be developed to collect …

The Design Of A Multiple Position Turret For Changing Robot End Effectors, William Lang
The Design Of A Multiple Position Turret For Changing Robot End Effectors, William Lang
Theses
This paper discusses the design and build of a multiple position turret used to simultaneously attach six end effectors to a four-degree of freedom Adept robot. The main objective of this thesis is to develop a prototype tool changer that is different, more cost effective, and offers more features and versatility than any other. Use of the turret allows the robot to quickly change the end effector in use by simply rotating any of the others into the ready position. This reduces the tool changing time in a high-speed assembly process that is normally associated with conventional tool changers disconnecting …

A Study Of Effect Of Crt Gamma And White Point On Softcopy And Hardcopy Agreement, Shih-Lung Kuo
Theses
DTP (Desk Top Publishing) professionals rely on CRT displays to provide visual feedback to adjust or to proof color prior to hardcopy. Solutions are now appearing in the market to meet this need. But the proper CRT calibration is still not clear to the end users. The objective of this work is to study the CRT setting in terms of gamma and white point; and to explore gamma and white point's effects on softcopy (CRT displayed image) and hardcopy (CMYK printed image) agreement. A number of CRT calibration experiments were performed. Two SCID (Standard Color Image Data) images were used …
