The New England TACE Center provides technical assistance (TA) & continuing education (CE) to the public vocational rehabilitation (VR) system and their partners. This center is part of a national network of 10 TACE Centers. The New England TACE serves: 10 State VR agencies; 2 Native American VR programs; VR provider agencies; Independent living centers and-1-Stop career centers.

The Northeast regional center for vision Education is committed to improving education for people with visual disabilities. We offer in-person and online training in three main areas: teacher of students with visual impairments orientation and mobility and vision rehabilitation therapy. Graduates of our programs are trained to help people with visual disabilities provide access to high quality education, seek employment and travel independently.

The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (MA-DDS) has been working to make its system of day services and supports more focused on competitive employment outcomes. This effort has involved a partnership among DDS, the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI), the State Employment Leadership Network, and the Work Without Limits project. ICI has worked alongside DDS throughout this effort, providing consulting, technical assistance, training, and evaluation activities.

The Massachusetts Agricultural Mediation Program is administered by the Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration (MOPC) at UMass Boston and certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to provide mediation services to the farm community in Massachusetts. Through the Program, MOPC provides mediation services to farmers, their creditors, and the USDA, as well as conducts training and outreach to build the capacity of producer organizations and state and local officials to address conflicts.

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) initiated the Forest Futures Visioning Process to develop a long-term strategy for managing the 308,000 acres of lands in the State and Urban Parks system. The Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration at UMass Boston designed and facilitated this year-long collaborative visioning process which culminated in a set of consensus recommendations for a 100 year vision for the forests of Massachusetts.

The Parent Mediation Program is a community-based program for parents who are no longer able to live together but still want to co-parent. The Program partners with five Community Mediation Centers. Funding is provided by the Massachusetts Department of Revenue Child Support Enforcement Division through a child access and visitation grant from the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services.

As part of the public service mission of UMASS Boston, the MA Office of Public Collaboration (MOPC) partnered with the Community Mediation Coalition of Massachusetts in compiling a research study and design for a Community Mediation Centers Grant Program to increase sustainability, scope and quality of Massachusetts community dispute resolution as a mechanism for increasing access to justice for all Massachusetts communities.

Hosted by the College of Management, we are part of a statewide business assistance program providing free one-on-one counsel to entrepreneurs and seeking help with business growth and strategy, financing and loan assistance, and strategic, marketing and operational analysis. Our services are available to the public and members of the UMB community, including student, faculty, and staff. We also offer workshops and training programs on a variety of topics targeted to the needs of small business.
