Music departments of the Christian schools have experienced very rapid growth during the last two decades and appear to possess wide variance in the nature of their development in subject offering and time allotment. This study was designed to survey the music programs of the Christian schools in America to determine the extent to which music subjects are a part of the offerings of these institutions.

Since the first World War, business training on the secondary level has steadily grown in the number of students enrolled and in importance. New inventions, recent legislation involving more record keeping, and rapidly growing industry has brought about the demand for more workers, especially for office workers.

In a survey made in 1954 for the Comstock School Board it was found that most of the graduates from Comstock High School begin working in offices without further training. Although 49 per cent of the graduates seek further education before beginning regular employment, only 30 per cent …

The profession of speech therapy is little more than twenty-five years old. As in any new field many beliefs are currently held without experimental corroboration. One of these concerns dentition. The claim is made by some speech therapists that missing teeth cause lisps. Other therapists and writers have doubted this belief. It is therefore the purpose of this study to determine the relationship between missing and articulation of the sibilant sounds, [s], [z], [S], [3], [tS], [d3], among first grade school children.

"Internal friction is defined as the ability of a vibrating solid to convert its mechanical energy of vibration into heat, even when completely isolated from its surroundings. (1) The most familiar manifestation of internal friction is the damping of a freely vibrating body, such as a torsional pendulum. "This report presents the results of detailed mapping of the geology of the northwest quarter of the Washington Quadrangle, Missouri. Extensive mapping and stratigraphic work have been done in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties to the east and in Callaway and Boone Counties to the west. These two well studied areas are separated by approximately 45 miles. This study adds geologic information to the area immediately between the above locations. In this area a gentle regional dip to the north permits a study of sediments ranging in age from lower Ordovician in the south to late Paleozoic and Pleistocene …

"Many studies of heat transmission have been carried out on various kinds of surfaces. But relatively few investigators have studied the loss of heat from a painted surface. Any surface will lose or gain heat by one or more of the three mechanisms of heat transmission: conduction, convection, and radiation. These mechanisms are thoroughly discussed by McAdams.

Heat transmission can be analyzed by determining thermal conductivity for conduction, overall coefficient for convection, and emissivity for radiation. The resistance concept is useful in indicating the various components of the overall coefficients and in analyzing problems in thermal conduction.

Numerous highway departments over the entire United States have laid test slabs made of air entrained concrete. Among those to date are Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Illinois, Missouri and California.
