The eastern box turtle (Terrapene carolina carolina; EBT) is a charismatic species with populations in decline due to habitat loss, disease, and other anthropogenic factors. However, due to their cryptic nature, studying an EBT population can be a difficult and intensive process. To investigate EBT populations in Coles County, Illinois, we used a combination of community science and computer-based pattern analysis to develop an approach to tracking individual turtles. While aspects of this impressive sight have been studied elsewhere, there is very limited information on how crows behave at night. The literature has demonstrated a positive relationship between interparental conflict and emotional dysregulation (Schwarz et al., 2012) and social anxiety (Adare et al., 2021). Maternal attachment was examined as a mediator of this relationship, as El-Sherkiah and Elmore-Staton (2004) identified it as a mediator between martial conflict and negative child outcomes. The mammalian liver, a vital organ with complex functions, relies on a network of transcription factors to regulate gene expression. Fusion of hepatoma cells with fibroblasts often leads to gene extinction, silencing approximately 400 liver-enriched genes, including critical transcription factors such as HNF4. Previous studies revealed that ectopic expression of HNF4 in fibroblasts failed to prevent the extinction of SERPINA1, a liver-specific gene, upon subsequent fusion with hepatoma cells. Here, we sought to investigate the extent to which ectopic expression of HNF4 can reprogram fibroblast cells and prevent gene extinction in hybrid cells.

Using a dye tracing method, we were able to determine the direction of groundwater flow and a water multiparameter sonde was used to characterize the water chemistry at each point of the springs. Cyanobacteria have never received molecular characterization in the gypsum soils at White Sands National Park. These gypsiferous soils support distinctive plant communities and considerable microbial taxonomic diversity in their biological soil crusts. Employing a polyphasic approach characterizing both morphology and sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene and associated 16S-23S ITS region, six strains of Trichocoleus isolated from White Sands biocrusts were fully characterized. Phylogenetic analyses including other as-yet-unnamed Trichocoleus strain sequences and the three previously described species, T. desertorum, T. caatingensis, and T. badius, led to a revision of the genus and identification of 17 unnamed species-level groups within Trichocoleus. …

These two tests measure an individual’s overall general intelligence. Both tests are able to assess individuals aged 6-90. The WASI-II publisher specified this test was only a screener while the RIAS-2 is not.
