The Integrated Planning Method Of Project Planning, Development And Implementation, Joseph Frank Lynch
The Integrated Planning Method Of Project Planning, Development And Implementation, Joseph Frank Lynch
Masters Theses
"Present comprehensive planning endeavors lack a consistent methodology which will produce realistic, useable results. The validity of this statement should be obvious after one has read Miller's "Evaluation of City and Region Planning Techniques." This paper contains a methodology, "The Integrated Planning Method," which will go a long way toward correcting this gross inadequacy that planners presently encounter in directing planning efforts. Two government developed planning and analysis procedures that, up until this time have been applied almost exclusively to hardware systems, have been combined into one integrated planning methodology that will provide not only meaningful and rigorous definition and …

Differential Effects Of Various Language Sampling Procedures On Children's Verbal Output, Wanda G. Webb
Masters Theses
The purpose of this investigation was to determine whether differences exist among four dlfferent language sampling procedures as to measures of communicative competence. Specifically, three questions were posed:
- Do statistically significant differences exist among obtained LCI scores for the following procedures for evoking child language samples: (1) Toys, (2) Verbal Directives, (3) Child-generated Pictures, and (4) Radio Telemetry.
- If differences exist, are they manifested in: (1) Noun Phrase One, (2) Verb Phrase One, (3) Noun Phrase Two.
- What is the frequency of occurrence of the obtained grammatical structures for the sampling procedure yielding the highest LCI scores?
PROCEDURE. Four language …

The Immediate Effect Of Swimming And Track Competition On Blood Ph Values, James B. Knott
Masters Theses
The purpose of the study was to investigate the changes associated with blood pH and different exercise work loads during competition. Finger tip blood samples (1 milliliter), were obtained from 33 male subjects from the varsity swimming and track teams of Eastern Illinois University. The samples were taken prior to exercise and between three and seven and one half minutes after cessation of the event. The blood samples were analyzed with a Radiometer Micro Blood pH Unit. The subjects were chosen on the basis of the events in which they competed. The swimming subjects competed in the 100, 200, 500, …

Baseline Response Rate And The Effect Of A Stimulus Which Precedes Response-Independent Reinforcement, William M. Arnold
Baseline Response Rate And The Effect Of A Stimulus Which Precedes Response-Independent Reinforcement, William M. Arnold
Masters Theses
The relationship between baseline response rate and the effect of presenting a stimulus followed by response-independent reinforcement on baseline response rate was investigated in this study. Six pigeons were divided into two equal groups, one of which was conditioned to key peck on a VI-DRH schedule of food reinforcement, the other on a VI-DRL schedule of food reinforcement. Once responding had stabilized, a tone was introduced seven times during each session followed by a response-independent food reinforcement. The results indicated no change in the response rate of the VI-DRH group during the tone, and acceleration of responding during the tone …

The Development Of A New Organizational Pattern For An Elementary School In The Fruitport School District, John W. Carlson
Masters Theses
The development of an educational program that will meet the needs of all pupils is a goal that is sought by all educators. The needs of individual pupils will be met if such a goal is ever realized. Such a program, by appreciating the fact that each individual has a different rate and aptitude for learning, should help children of all ages and abilities achieve their full potential.
This case study follows the establishment of a nongraded flexibly scheduled, team taught elementary school from inception of the initial concept through the first year of operation. While it was impossible to …
