The Social History Questionnaire As Related To Length Of Stay In Psychotherapy: A Cross-Validation, Robert Crowley
Masters Theses
The purpose of the present study was to cross-validate the Terminator-Remainer subscale of the Social History Questionnaire (Jachim, 1972). The subjects were 72 clients from a mental health clinic. Two groups were used in the study (N = 72 and N = 36). Both groups were divided into Terminators and Remainers.
A point biserial correlation between the score on the Terminator-Remainer subscale and the criterion groups was significant (N = 72: rpb = .24, p < .05; N = 36: rpb = .38, p < .05). Predictive validity was established.
No relationship was found between being a Terminator or a Remainer and sex (x2 = 0.07, N …

The Social History Of Therapists And Their Clients, As Related To Outcome Of Therapy, Howard A. Bernstein
Masters Theses
The present study was concerned with the concept of therapist-patient pairing or similarity-dissimilarity. From previous research, it appears that certain therapist types work better with certain client types.
In the current study, three therapists and twenty-four clients were used to develop the concept of pairing further using social history as a basis. The results indicate that global similarity generally leads to more positive outcome. However, we are unable to draw any firm conclusions, primarily due to the small sample size. It does appear that social history may be a useful area to continue investigations in the area of pairing.

The Effects Of Metrazol On Acquisition Of An Oddity Task In Squirrel Monkeys, Stephen Wilson
The Effects Of Metrazol On Acquisition Of An Oddity Task In Squirrel Monkeys, Stephen Wilson
Masters Theses
Recent evidence indicates that Metrazol can enhance learning in rodents provided certain variables such as genetic strain, difficulty of problem to be learned, and dosage levels are considered and carefully controlled. The effects of Metrazol on oddity acquisition in four squirrel monkeys was investigated. The apparatus employed was a modified version of the Wisconsin General Testing Apparatus. The dosage level of Metrazol was 15 mg/kg of body weight. The results suggest that Metrazol had no effect on the learning of the oddity task by the squirrel monkeys.

Regional Geological Engineering Mapping By Erts-1 Imagery A Case Study On Taiwan., Shih-Tsu Chen
Regional Geological Engineering Mapping By Erts-1 Imagery A Case Study On Taiwan., Shih-Tsu Chen
Masters Theses
"Three types of maps of Taiwan were made by using color composites of ERTS-1 images. The three types of maps, consisting of a regional land use map, an offshore sediment distribution map, and a tectonic map, were made from a color composite imagery utilizing Diazo chrome and Esco chrome films with a planimetrically accuracy sufficient for a 1:1,000,000 scale map.
Color enhanced imagery was found to increase the accuracy level of the land use interpretation. Three color enhancement techniques were used to increase the color contrast between the scenes of different land use. Particular land use scenes required a special …
A Systems Approach To Evaluating The Effectiveness Of Training Programs, Jesse Michael Haverstick
A Systems Approach To Evaluating The Effectiveness Of Training Programs, Jesse Michael Haverstick
Masters Theses
"The evaluation of the effectiveness of training programs has long been recognized as a necessity in determining the allocation of investment. However, much of industry, today, still does not use an easily administered, systematic, and reliable method for determining training program effectiveness for their salaried (managerial) personnel. It is easily seen that determining training program effectiveness is not a one-shot, one-time event, but a continual process, whose aim, ultimately, is increased productivity. For the effectiveness of a training program to be adequately monitored, these four areas should be measured: (1) trainee attitude, (2) learning, (3) behavior change, and (4) productivity …
Bidding And Negotiation Of Government Funded Contracts With Inflationary Considerations., David Thurman Hearst
Bidding And Negotiation Of Government Funded Contracts With Inflationary Considerations., David Thurman Hearst
Masters Theses
"The traditional government contract type has played an important role in the economy of the United States. In its most used type, that of fixed price, it represents a stabilizing factor in the cycles of the business world. However, recently this type of contract has been affected by the nation's most recent plague, double-digit inflation.
Inflation attacks almost all phases of stability in the economy and in contract negotiations and bidding techniques. It erodes the monetary unit of the economy, distorts forecasting models, and creates potential ruin for contractors due to uncertainty in costs.
Research pertaining to government funded contracts …

The Effects Of Dental Hygiene Information And Consequation On Plaque Control, Janel R. Warner
The Effects Of Dental Hygiene Information And Consequation On Plaque Control, Janel R. Warner
Masters Theses
The research described in the present paper is based upon a parsimonious analysis of behavior which utilizes principles that have been empirically determined. These principles as discussed by Ullmann and Krasner (1966) and Ulrich, Stachnik, and Mabry (1966) have suggested the wide applicability of behavior modification techniques, not only with animals, but with human subjects in diverse settings. One setting that has previously been left unexplored by proponents of behavior modification, which promises to be an area of growing concern, is that of dental hygiene.
The problem that the present study concerns itself with is educating children in the· correct …
