Stability Constants Of Naco3-, Naso4- And Kco3- In Water At 25°C, Frank Dennis Blum
Stability Constants Of Naco3-, Naso4- And Kco3- In Water At 25°C, Frank Dennis Blum
Masters Theses
A new method for determining ion association constants in aqueous solutions using ion selective electrodes has been developed. This method has been applied to the NaCO3-, NaSO4- and KCO3- ion pairs at 25°C. Association constants for NaCO3- and NaSO4- were determined at various ionic strengths and extrapolated to zero ionic strength to yield 2.2 ± 0.2 for NaCO3- and 5.3 ± 0.4 for NaSO4-. Values for the association constants at an ionic strength near sea water (I=0.70) were calculated to be 1.7 ± 0.1 …
An Analysis Of The Optimum Learning In Regular Classrooms Project In Charleston, Illinois, Patricia Tucker Chaney
An Analysis Of The Optimum Learning In Regular Classrooms Project In Charleston, Illinois, Patricia Tucker Chaney
Masters Theses
The Optimum Learning in Regular Classrooms Project is an adoptive-adaptive ESEA Title IV-C project with two purposes: (1) to provide more effective educational service to children with special needs through training the mainstream teacher to diagnose these special needs as well as implement solutions for such children on an ongoing basis, and (2) to provide more efficient support services to the mainstream teacher in his/her efforts to meet the special needs of exceptional children, whether handicapped or gifted.
Four main aspects of the project are examined:
Classroom organization. All classrooms were organized at least in part into learning centers. This …
An Analysis Of The Intern Program, Kolawole Lafinhan
An Analysis Of The Intern Program, Kolawole Lafinhan
Masters Theses
Through exposure to local school districts and their programs, professionals such as teachers, leaders, and educators can be trained to become effective administrative leaders.
The primary purpose of this paper is the acquisition of a broad base of knowledge and varied practical experience pertinent to becoming an effective administrative leader in the future. This paper describes the internship program. The activities included in this internship such as conferences, meetings, and visits to schools and the Illinois Office of Education in Springfield are detailed chronologically. A number of suggestions are made for effective future administrative intern programs.
Included also in this …
Characterizations Of Inner Product Spaces., John Lee Roy Williams
Characterizations Of Inner Product Spaces., John Lee Roy Williams
Masters Theses
"The parallelogram law and several extensions and generalizations which characterize inner product spaces among normed linear spaces are given. The characterization problem is motivated by its usefulness in foundations of general quantum theories and examples are given.
The technique of proving that a normed linear space is an inner product space by showing that its unit sphere is an ellipsoid is emphasized. Using this technique, a new integral characterization is obtained"-- Abstract, p. ii
Dynamic Pullout Resistance Of Anchors Buried In Dry Sand, Chris John Veesaert
Dynamic Pullout Resistance Of Anchors Buried In Dry Sand, Chris John Veesaert
Masters Theses
"The vertical pullout resistance of buried anchors subjected to dynamic loading was investigated by means of a laboratory model study. A dry uniformly graded sand, compacted by vibration to 92% of its relative density, was used as the test medium. Tests were performed in a 24-inch square tank using 3.0 and 5.0-inch diameter half and full-anchors. The anchors were tested at depths ranging from 5.0 to 21.0 inches.
It was assumed that the dynamic failure mechanism of earth anchors was the same as the static failure mode, and not distinct behavior. Thus static tests, i.e., tests using a constant strain …
The Geology Of The Searchlight Mining District, Clark County, Nevada, John Stewart Bown
The Geology Of The Searchlight Mining District, Clark County, Nevada, John Stewart Bown
Masters Theses
"The general area of the Searchlight mining district has been the object of various studies by geologists since 1861. The Searchlight district is located in southern Clark County, Nevada in the eastern part of the Mojave Desert at the southern end of the Eldorado Mountains. Southern Clark County is characterized by a lack of Paleozoic and Mesozoic rocks. A Precambrian complex of rocks mostly gneiss in the southwest corner of the district is non-conformably overlain by Tertiary extrusive rocks about 8,500 feet (2,590 meters) thick consisting of andesite, basalt, rhyolite, and pyroclastics. Both the gneiss and volcanic assemblage were intruded …
Petrology Of The Rockport Quarry Limestone (Middle Devonian Traverse Group) Alpena, Presque Isle And Montmorency Counties, Michigan, Charles Willard Cookman
Petrology Of The Rockport Quarry Limestone (Middle Devonian Traverse Group) Alpena, Presque Isle And Montmorency Counties, Michigan, Charles Willard Cookman
Masters Theses
The basal unit of the dominantly carbonate Traverse Group, the Bell Shale, is gradationally overlain by the Rockport Quarry Limestone which has a thickness of approximately 14 m. The Rockport Quarry Limestone is composed of a dark unrestricted marine subtidal organic-mud packstone facies, comprised of an algal-mat-bearing coral packstone subfacies and a shallower water crinoid-bryozoan grainstone subfacies; a shoal forming stromatoporoid biolithite facies; and a lagoonal micrite facies comprised of a subtidal dense subfacies containing gastropods, ostracods, and calcispheres, and an Intertidal to supratidal fenestral subfacies. The local facies tract reconstructed for the Rockport Quarry Limestone is interpreted to be …
