For a number of years the Virginia State Department of Education has been very much concerned with the handling of finances of co-curricular funds by individual schools. Although the finances of co-curricular activities do not come under the direct supervision of the State Department, this phase or school administration has caused much concern.

Very little has been published concerning the molluscan fauna of Virginia, this being also true for the area under consideration. A preliminary list of the Mollusca of Hanover County was published by J.B.Burch (1952) in which twenty-five species and subspecies of land snails were reported. Several of the land Mollusca of Henrico and Chesterfield Counties were listed by P.R. Burch (1950). These included the snails Discus patulus Deshayes, Haplotrema concavum (Say), Mesodon thyroidus (Say), Stenotrema hirsutum (Say), Triodopsis Fallax (Say), and Ventridens = (zonitoides) arboreus (Say). From the time I was first introduced to Fitzgerald's writing through a reading of This Side of Paradise, when I was a freshman in college, his subject matter and technique as a novelist have interested me intensely. Numerous studies relating adjustment to perseveration are given in the first chapter. The present study investigated this relationship in order to ascertain whether those high in shift ability will make better social than emotional adjustments and those law in shirt ability will be better adjusted emotionally than socially.
