A State Teachers Scholarship Program was inaugurated in Virginia in 1947. The program, based on appropriations made by the General Assembly of Virginia for each biennium, has been in continuous operation for eleven years. It provides financial assistance in the form of scholarship grants for in-service teachers and for individuals who are preparing to enter the teaching profession.

It would be impossible to gather all the impressions made on Virginia society and the American way of life by Louisa Baptists. The author of this paper has not always been a Baptist, but is a Baptist by conviction. Much of the tradition and color of the old days is still noticeable in the Louisa County Baptist Churches. The principal objective of this thesis is to investigate the densities of four different homologous series of urea adducts to discover the effect functional groups have on the density and molar ratio of the adducts. The four series selected are straight chain saturated hydrocarbons of the following types: n-paraffins, alcohols, acids and bromides. The number of carbon atoms contained in the chains are 8, 10, 14 and 18 for each of the respective series.

The present investigation is a comparison of the blood oxygen capacity in three species of frogs: a semi-terrestrial form R. pippins, the meadow frog; and two aquatic forms, R. clamitans, the green frog; and R. catesbeiana, the bullfrog. The habitats or these frogs are described by Wright and Wright (1949) as follows: R. pipiens inhabits swampy marsh lands, upland backwaters, overflows, and ponds in the spring.
