The University Of Richmond And Her War Effort, 1939-1945, Robert Richard Shotzberger

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese made their sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, and the United States was at war. This marked the second time within a quarter of a century, and the fifth time in the history of the University, that war clouds hovered over the United States. During World War I, the University vacated its new campus (the present site) in favor of the United States War Department. The campus and all of the buildings were used for hospital purposes. Thousands of soldiers, wounded on the Western Front, were hospitalized in the buildings on the new campus. These …

In 1753 Orange County could hardly have still been oalled a frontier region, but its society remained like that of the more exposed communities to the west for some time. It was neither overpopulated nor was the land intensively cultivated. The flora and fauna had hardly been affected, and wolves frequently howling at night reminded the inhabitants that the job of taming their environment was yet unfinished. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this investigation has been to set forth the doctrine of justification and righteousness by faith as taught in the Seventh-day Adventist church after 1900. Attention has been given to the teaching of this doctrine in its relationship to the historical development of the church. Note has also been taken of the place accorded the teaching of this tenet alongside of other Bible doctrines held by Seventh-day Adventists.

For muny centuries the Chinese had very little contact with outside world. Mountains, desert, and ocean were barriers which helped to protect the Chinese and their country from foreign invasions. Because of this isolation, China produced a civilization which is entirely different from others. The ancient Chinese civilization was so well established that it has survived; uninterrupted and not greatly changed to the present century. For a long time it was a great advantage to the Chinese to be shut away from the outside while the Occidentals were making steady progress. An Investigation Of The Syntax Of Words Denoting Time In The New Testament, Ronald David Drayson

Statement of the problem
In the English language, a word denoting time calls for the assistance of other words in order to describe the particular aspect of the time to which reference is made. For instance, the word "night" by itself describes little, but "by night" or "night-time" suggests the specific kind of time in contrast to "day time". "In the night" refers to a point of time at which something happened that did not involve the whole night, whereas "during the night" or "throughout the night" would suggest an extension of a condition or experience during the whole of …
