The Status Of The Virginia High School Assistant Principal, Leonard J. Rogers
The Status Of The Virginia High School Assistant Principal, Leonard J. Rogers
Master's Theses
Early secondary schools were relatively small and made few demands on the principal's time. With the growth of the schools the responsibilities of the principal have grown proportionately. As these responsibilities increased, it became necessary for him to share these duties with an assistant. This assistant began taking over routine activities mostly those of a clerical nature. As the schools continued to grow he began assuming duties in the realm of supervision and administration. To be effective he needed to be as dedicated, as perceptive and as well trained as the principal himself.

Developments In The Financing Of Residential Real Estate, James Thomas Mills
Developments In The Financing Of Residential Real Estate, James Thomas Mills
Master's Theses
Real estate, in the early twentieth century, was known to be one of the most stable and dependable revenue producing assets in the portfolios of investing institutions. However, in 1925, there began a slow rise in the rate of foreclosures of mortgage loans. The stock market collapse cam in 1929 and then the Depression. The causes of foreclosure and financial collapse can be linked to the real estate practices that were used during this period of time. This paper looks to examine those practices and how they affected the economy.

An Investigation Into The Preparation For The Elementary Principalship In The White Public Schools Of Virginia Having Five Or More Teachers, Robert Donald Ford
Master's Theses
Much attention has been focused in recent years upon the growing demand for elementary teachers, and the subsequent shortage of qualified personnel. It is the author 's belief that, amid all the hue and cry for "good teachers". Not enough attention has been given the importance of obtaining good principals. This concern has led the author to ask, "Where do the persons who are appointed to the elementary principalship come from? What is …

The Growth And Development Of A Program For Exceptional Children In The State Of West Virginia, Marcia Walker Blandau
Master's Theses
West Virginia is a comparatively young state. Special Education in the public schools is younger still. Throughout the history of West Virginia, the state has had financial difficulties and political factions. When West Virginia became a state she had no institutions, no social organs to provide for the general welfare, no common schools, no normal schools, and no university. Within sixty-five years the state had provided twelve institutions tor exceptional children. And today, six years before the state celebrates its first centennial, West Virginia has a well established special education program.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the …
