An Investigation Of The Status Of Professional Requirements For Counselors In Twelve Selected Southern States, Marie N. Morris
An Investigation Of The Status Of Professional Requirements For Counselors In Twelve Selected Southern States, Marie N. Morris
Master's Theses
In the school of today the administrator and the teachers are not able to offer students and parents all the assistance they need; as a consequence, the school must provide guidance survives. Because there is a national urgency to identify and develop the talents of these students, well-organized guidance services are needed.
Today, technology and automation have lifted guidance out of the merely "desirable" category, and made it in an urgent, basic need for social and economic survival. This is a new and exciting age with special opportunities for the educated, and corresponding risks for those whose education is inadequate. …
A Survey Of The Leave-Of-Absence Policies Of The State Of Virginia, It's Local School Divisions, And Other States, John Richard Kopko
A Survey Of The Leave-Of-Absence Policies Of The State Of Virginia, It's Local School Divisions, And Other States, John Richard Kopko
Master's Theses
When a teacher accepts a position, he agrees to be with his puils each day that school is in session. Yet at times, it is justifiable that a teacher be absent from his regular teaching duties. Hence, it is important that a provision for teacher leaves-of-absence be included in the personnel policies of every school system.
It is legitimate to ask whether the leaves-of-absence provisions provided by the State of Virginia and its counties and cities are adequate. This thesis is intended to compare the policies of the State and its counties and cities with the policies of the other …

Self-Diffusion Of Ions In Gels, Thomas Caldwell Smith
Self-Diffusion Of Ions In Gels, Thomas Caldwell Smith
Master's Theses
Radioisotope tracer techniques were used to determine the self-diffusion coefficients of the ions of sodium, potassium, cesium, chloride, bromide, and iodide in 3% agar gel, and the self-diffusion coefficient of the sodium ion in gelatin-agar gels at differing pH values of the gel.
The coefficients in agar gels were found to be in agreement with the Nernst equation for the diffusion coefficients of ions in aqueous solution. 'l'he diffusion coefficients in gelatin-agar gels were found to be higher in the presence of non-active NaCl than in its absence. The value of the coefficient was lower at the isoelectric point of …

A Study Of The Physical Fitness Program In The Albert H. Hill School, Thomas Costas Stavredes
A Study Of The Physical Fitness Program In The Albert H. Hill School, Thomas Costas Stavredes
Master's Theses
Throughout the years the story of man's development has been one of long continuous change. Thousands of years ago primitive man lived without the use of fire, tools or language. Gathering his food and other necessities, he was at the mercy of the cold, the wind, the rain and other dangers harmful to his existence. This individual came to realize that in order to survive he had to be fit--fit in the sense of meeting successfully any situation of hardship or danger as well as any other experience harmful to his existence. To him fitness was necessary for survival.
