Background: Intimate partner abuse can disrupt one’s basic core of dignity, self-respect, confidence, and motivation. Abused women can go through life in a tangled web of control and abuse that their partner dictates. Posttraumatic growth after abuse may lead to positive psychological changes because of this highly stressful experience.

80% of maternal deaths in the U.S. are preventable, with many resulting from inequities.1 Pregnant populations, such as Black mothers, are dying at a disproportionate rate: 49.5 maternal deaths/100,000 live births.2 M-NEST: The Maternal Newborn, Essential Support Team, provides a community-based supplemental pregnancy program that includes risk assessment, mental health services, doula care, and guaranteed basic income (GBI).3

M-NEST is a person-centered, multidisciplinary team approach with GBI addressing structural inequities. Each team member meets with the pregnant person during the pregnancy and postpartum period. Virtual team meetings are conducted to discuss the continued plan of care.

Background: Frailty affects 63% of heart failure patients, significantly diminishing their quality of life (QoL). Targeted interventions are crucial to mitigate frailty and enhance patient outcomes. However, existing research largely focuses on the elderly. This study examines the impact of the NICE-Support program, which includes nutrition, nursing instruction, combined exercise, and support, on frailty and QoL in heart failure patients.

Although sexual function is an important facet of quality of life (1, 2), it is an aspect that is frequently overlooked by healthcare professionals in patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) (3, 4). It is known that living with chronic lung diseases such as COPD, asthma, and cystic fibrosis makes maintaining sexual function strenuous (4, 5). Using PubMed as the primary search platform, a total of 11,837 articles were identified, showcasing a significant increase in research output, especially from the 2000s onwards, with a marked rise in publications in recent years[1]. The bibliometric analysis highlights key trends, including exponential growth in research focused on clinical practice, intervention efficacy, and care management, with 820 articles published in 2023 alone.

The two-part project was primarily focused on expanding disaster management and emergency preparedness learning experiences in our nursing courses by partnering with our local community agencies.

To diversify our student experience and work within our local community we established a mutually beneficial partnership to create an opportunity to expose students to emergency management and disaster preparedness. We asked the local County Medical Reserve Corporation Coordinator to partner with us to offer their eight required training courses which would allow interested sophomore students to become MRC members. Background: Texas has the largest prison population in the United States, with approximately 134,000 individuals currently incarcerated. Ensuring quality healthcare for all patients, including incarcerated individuals, is essential to uphold ethical standards and legal requirements. However, correctional health facilities face unique challenges in recruiting and retaining skilled nursing staff due to the demanding nature of the work, safety concerns, lower pay, and the stigma of working in a prison environment (Chafin & Biddle, 2013). Utilizing virtual active learning pre-lecture assignments have shown to increase student engagement for learning.
