A QMS was conducted to describe the sibling experiences of children discharged from the PICU to promote future research of the sibling experience and identify interventions for sibling support. The research question was: what are the experiences of siblings of children discharged from the PICU?

The nursing shortage is critical globally (Buchan & Catton, 2023). Several factors contribute to this, including disability. Promoting retention measures for nursing graduates, particularly those with learning disabilities (LD), helps address the nurse shortage in line with equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Federal laws mandate that academic institutions offer reasonable accommodation to students with LD to enhance their educational outcomes. However, the automatic accommodations offered to these students ‘fade away’ after graduation, although LD is a lifelong difference. Hospital readmission rate is highest among underserved communities. Providing continuum of care to these populations will yield a greater reduction in readmission rate. Church and faith-based clinics often help underserved communities. Equipping them with the transitional care model (TCM) and an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with specialized training as a Faith Community Nurse (FCN) can implement whole-person care and reduce hospital readmission and improve the health of the community. Hospital readmissions remain a critical challenge in healthcare, particularly in oncology, where complex treatment regimens and post-discharge complications contribute to unplanned hospitalizations. These readmissions increase healthcare costs and negatively impact patient outcomes, quality of life, and institutional performance metrics. This quality improvement project evaluated the impact of a Discharge Readiness Checklist (DRC) on 30-day medical readmission rates among gynecologic oncology patients at an academic hospital. Thai hospitals increasingly integrate local wisdom into postpartum care.1 Tai-Yuan, an ethnic Tai group from the ancient Lanna Kingdom, is distinguished by their unique dialect and cultural practices that continue to thrive in various regions of Thailand.2 Nakhon Ratchasima Province Thailand’s Tai-Yuan community maintain cultural practices that combine Buddhist beliefs with ancestral wisdom. Disparities in cervical cancer screening (CCS) rates persist, notably among vulnerable populations such as refugee and immigrant women. This pilot study evaluates the effectiveness of an ED Train the Trainer (T3) program in improving resident proficiency, confidence, and retention, as well as preceptor confidence. The program focused on critical thinking and task management skills using the Identify, Intervene, Assess, and Reassess (IIAR) model, addressing the gap between academic preparation and clinical practice.

Health professions use a preceptorship model for clinical education. Numerous studies have evaluated barriers and facilitators to nurse practitioner (NP) preceptorship. However, few used theory-guided, psychometrically-sound, survey instruments. My purpose was to develop and test validity and reliability of a preceptorship survey, using the Integrated Behavioral Model (IBM) as a framework. I developed a pool of 82 survey items that reflected 11 constructs in the IBM from published literature and unpublished research findings. Background: Substance use, including tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis, is widespread among college students and has been linked to mental health issues. This study investigates the relationship between substance use risk and serious mental illness (SMI) in a large college student sample, examining how different levels of use correlate with mental health outcomes.

An Observational Study Of Personalized Mhealth To Promote Wellness In Healthcare Workers, Mary S. Mccarthy

Background: Healthcare workforce resilience weakened during and after the pandemic. Nutrition, physical activity, and sleep deficits further diminish health status. Providing just-in-time resources may promote healthier behaviors in direct-care hospital staff. We had two study aims: 1) coach healthcare workers (HCWs) to make lifestyle changes that enhance wellness, and 2) compare high and low engagement with mHealth resources to achieve recommendations for cardiometabolic health.

Background. The International Home Care Nurses Organization and the American Nurses Association (ANA) are collaborating to develop the International Scope and Standards of Home-Based Nursing Practice. The first step was to conduct research with home-based nurses (HBNs; nurses who provide care for patients in their homes) to develop an evidence-base for the international scope and standards document.
