A woman with cystic fibrosis became pregnant twice on ivacaftor/lumacaftor after years of trying to conceive unsuccessfully. Safety profiles for this drug have not been established for pregnant women. Implications for research, practice, and education related to CF drug therapy are vast for this vulnerable group.

Life Satisfaction And Realized Expectations Post-Immigration (Using The Reali Scale) Among English-Speaking Immigrants, Cheryl Zlotnick, Laura Dryjanska

This study examined the relationship between life satisfaction and acculturation for immigrants from four English-speaking countries, adjusting for confounders including: family support, demographic characteristics, and years in the host country. Findings suggest that after adjusting for confounders, life satisfaction was connected to health status and realized expectations post-immigration.

In 11 focus groups conducted over a two-year period, two cohorts of nursing students described the faculty member characteristics and behaviors that led the students to trust them. Participants also described the impact that trust (vs. distrust) in a faculty member had on their engagement, emotions, learning, self-confidence, and more.

A critical need for error prevention instruction exists. Systems thinking emphasizes how nursing actions impact systems. This presentation focuses on the designing process of an online animated systems thinking module. Virtual nurse learner test scores validated that gaming was engaging for effective learning. Recommendations were primarily technology-related.

To reduce cardiovascular risk for vulnerable individuals, an Inter-professional Collaborative Practice(IPCP) program has been implemented into a federally-qualified health center in west Texas. All IPCP team members including NPs, RNs, clinical pharmacists/pharmacy residents, psychologists, registered dietitians, community health workers, and licensed social workers received evidence-based TeamSTEPPS training.

This was a longitudinal study of military burn survivors after they were treated at the military burn center located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Quality of life, satisfaction with life, community integration, post-traumatic stress and depression were outcomes of interest over 18 months post-burn center discharge.
