In a randomized controlled trial of patients with heart failure, two moderate exercises, Tai Chi and resistance band were more effective in improving depressive symptoms and cognitive function than usual care. Whereas, Tai Chi and resistance band exercises did not differ in these outcomes.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is an excellent HIV prevention medication. While PrEP use has increased, the urgent care has been reluctant and slow to embrace this prevention method due to a lack of guidance. A multidisciplinary iAssay telehealth research collaboration addresses Point of Care needs of underserved diabetes clients utilizing a wireless mobile handheld blood glucose- and cholesterol-testing iAssay System device. The device remotely monitors blood chemistries, rapid blood panel testing and diagnosis in non-clinical settings improving patient outcomes, at significantly decreased costs.

A Randomized-Control Trial To Test Breast Milk Odor/Taste On Preterm Infant Pain During Venipuncture, Hsiang-Ping Wu, Jen-Jiuan Liaw

The study suggests that preterm infants receiving odor/taste integration could significantly lower the pain score of infants, and lower the changes of the HR during the venipuncture phase. The results can guide caregivers to alleviate preterm infants' pain during painful procedure by using breast milk odor/taste integration.

Intimate Partner Violence Victimization, Interpersonal Dependency, And Anger Among Women In South Korea, Jeongmin Ha

Results showed that interpersonal dependency was positively correlated with both state and trait anger, and interpersonal dependency was higher in the intimate partner violence victimization in participants aged 18 to 29. These results suggest the need to develop strategies to reduce interpersonal dependency and manage anger among women.

The project question was, in urban Native American adults diagnosed with type II diabetes; does the utilization of Talking Circles for diabetes education compared to traditional group diabetes education improve patient self-care behaviors in 8 weeks? The project used Diabetes Knowledge Tool questionnaires. Results showed a significant improvement in scores.

This study focuses the challenges that caregivers of individuals with dementia face daily, utilizing de-identified data from eight interviews with caregivers. The obstacles were evident throughout the data, and similarities among caregivers arose. Caregivers commonly sought out support groups to cope with their circumstances.

Based on the Antonovsky's salutogenetic model as a theory to guide health promotion, the purposes of this study were to measure levels of health-related information seeking behaviors, Health Locus of Control, Sense of Coherence, and Self-rated Health (SRH) among Korean patients with colorectal cancer, and to identify factors influencing SRH.
