In Situ Nondestructive Characterization Of Damage Progression In Ceramic Matrix Composites At Room And Elevated Temperatures, Roger J. Gural
In Situ Nondestructive Characterization Of Damage Progression In Ceramic Matrix Composites At Room And Elevated Temperatures, Roger J. Gural
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This investigation successfully uses an integrated NDE/mechanical test system to characterize damage initiation and accumulation in [0]i6 Nicalon/MAS-5 and [0/90]3s SiC/BMAS ceramic matrix composite (CMC) systems at room and elevated (up to 900°C) temperatures. Extensive surface replication and photography are used to correlate changes in ultrasonic surface and longitudinal wave characteristics to damage mechanisms. The sudden decrease in the peak-to-peak amplitude of the surface wave signal coincides with the onset of matrix cracking at room and elevated temperatures. The amplitude of the surface wave signal decreases with increasing crack density. Matrix cracking first occurs in matrix rich regions where the …
Technological Writing Interventions For Students With Specific Learning Disabilities, Elizabeth A. Hanes
Technological Writing Interventions For Students With Specific Learning Disabilities, Elizabeth A. Hanes
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
In the 1970’s Congress passed Public Law 94-142 which states that children with disabilities will be provided a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment in their local school district (Ohio Schools, 1993). This law is now referred to as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act 20 USC 1041.As a result, children were mainstreamed into regular education classrooms for some subjects activities. Inclusion is the provision of educational and supplemental services to all special education students into the regular classroom setting for all or a substantial part of the school day (Ohio Schools, 1993). Inclusion is a support …

Investigations And Subsequent Advancement Of A Holographic Interferometry System, Patrick Clayton Wade
Investigations And Subsequent Advancement Of A Holographic Interferometry System, Patrick Clayton Wade
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Non-intrusive measurement techniques for various flow parameters are important in the future of ground testing. The most promising such technique for hypersonic wind tunnels with low densities is Holographic Interferometry. Several improvements were made to an existing Holographic Interferometry system in an effort to advance the technique. An existing single plate Holographic Interferometry system was modified for use in the laboratory environment. Holograms created in a previous wind tunnel test were examined to validate the use of Phase-shift Interferometry to remove any effects due to any illumination disparities. Using this phase map, a qualitative view of a flow was created. …
