Coated bearings in high performance turbine engines have the potential to improve engine reliability and extend service life. One of the coating performance indicators is the level of vibration generated by rolling element and raceway impacts during bearing operation. Vibrations in engine bearings can be difficult to monitor because they are located in a cramped and high temperature environment, and there is often system noise caused by other components located on the same shaft. This thesis investigates the effectiveness of a non-intrusive cage-mounted sensor which detects cage vibration and transmits wirelessly to a nearby receiver. The sensitivity of the cage-mounted …

Competing interests for state government funding have affected the status of public higher education as a budget priority. State legislators and executive officeholders are increasing appropriations to areas such as public K-12 education, health care, infrastructure, and social services programs at the expense of state colleges and universities. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship of nine variables with attitudes of Counselor Educators toward persons with disabilities. The objective was to identify several potential variables that may influence attitudes. Nine variables were examined to test their relationship with attitude among the participants. An analysis was completed of the significance between each of the factors and attitude as measured by the SADP (Antonak, 1981). The Use Of Picture Communication System Symbols To Enhance Independent Completion Of A Task Analysis, Heather Leigh House

Picture communication system symbols paired with a task analysis were used in order to help increase the independence of task completion for students with severe cognitive impairments. This system pairs a picture symbol with each step of a task analysis to illustrate the steps that a student must go through in order to complete the task. Results of the study showed that the picture communication system symbols paired with a task analysis were rapidly successful for the students and significantly increased their percentage of independent task completion
