This examination seeks to address the problems both universities and students confront regarding the growth of student expression. It is noted that contemporary students sometimes have fewer rights than petty criminals and this article explores the common reasons behind universities’ abbreviated procedures and reconcile those reasons with students’ emerging Fourteenth Amendment rights.

This review champions the editor’s use of Mr. Justice Black’s own opinions in showcasing his emphasis of the emancipating aspects of the Constitution. This work cautions the reader to avoid relying on this compilation as an accurate depiction of the state of the law, especially considering that most of the included opinions are dissents.

This article takes issue with an ABA committee’s statement that “no question of the Bill of Rights is involved” when state universities deny guest speakers from the Communist party access to university facilities. This argument relies on principles of equal protection, free speech, and the doctrine of reasonable time, place, and manner.

The Institute of Contemporary Law, having recently completed an investigation and analysis of the California grand jury, now turns its efforts to the area of the superior court system in California. Hoping to correlate the work of students, lawyers and judges in this area, the following article attempts a broad review of the function and operation of the superior court in California. In this extensive discussion of the Civil War amendments, this article proposes to identify the functions of the state action limitation. Specific accommodation of those functions is discussed in a variety of contexts: freedom from brutality, voting, education, employment, housing, etc.

This comment addresses the deficiencies of the Ohio Public Accommodations Laws. This treatment addresses who is protected and burdened by the laws, the forbidden forms of discrimination, available remedies, and the significance of section 2901.36 of the Ohio Revised Code.
