The purpose of this study, then, is to determine the practices and procedures used in Legion Government Days' programs in five schools in this area of South Dakota. The programs which are the subject of this investigation originated …

The advocates of the two school systems have base their opinions on observations only and without the benefit of statistical evidence. To present impartial evidence upon which the proponents may form a more logical conclusion was the purpose of the investigator. The purpose of this study was to compare the students who had received the first nine years of their training in a parochial …

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The problem stated as a broad social question is : Has the Farm Ownership loan program been achieving its objectives of reducing farm tenancy and promoting security of tenure through family farm ownership? Available evidence indicates that the program may not have been very effective in reducing farm tenancy either nationally or in a high-tenancy area such as South Dakota where 53 percent of the farmers were tenants in 1940 . From its inception in 1937 through June 30, 1950, the Farm Ownership loan program made 58, 395 direct and insured loans in the United States. This figure compared with …

Effect Of Level And Source Of Protein On Digestibility Of Different Qualities Of Prairie Hay By Cattle And Sheep, Ralph Louis Braun

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The economy of much of our Great Plains region depends upon the efficiency with which we use its most important crop--grass. Since over 75 percent of the feed of all beef cattle and sheep is grass, anything that can be done to increase its value as feed for livestock is of tremendous importance to the wealth and economy of the nation.
