The goal of this Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) quality improvement project was to enhance pharmacovigilance practices among non-medical mental health providers (NMMHPs) in an outpatient psychiatric setting. The project addressed the issue of limited recognition and reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) by NMMHPs, which can lead to delays in clinical intervention and compromise patient safety. To tackle this problem, a quasi-experimental, pre–post intervention design was employed. Research on mindfulness programs has demonstrated significant benefits for both providers and patients. This quality improvement project aims to evaluate the effect of a brief mindfulness-based stress reduction program (MBSR) for providers who evaluate veterans on the variable of mindfulness awareness compared to current site practice. Medication reconciliation represents a critical safety process in psychiatric healthcare, where medication discrepancies affect up to 67% of hospitalized patients, with 30-40% potentially causing significant harm. This quality improvement project implemented a standardized medication reconciliation training program at a Texas mental health facility to address knowledge and confidence gaps among clinical staff. Using Kotter's 8-Step Change Model and the Iowa Model of Evidence-Based Practice, this quasi-experimental pre-post intervention study delivered three 30-minute interactive sessions to 12 multidisciplinary healthcare professionals. At a Dallas–Fort Worth SNF, a needs assessment identified rising unassisted falls and inconsistent protocol adherence. Hypertension disproportionately affects African Americans, contributing to elevated risks of stroke, cardiovascular disease, and kidney failure. Despite the well-established benefits of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, its adoption remains limited due to cultural, socioeconomic, and health literacy barriers. This Quality Improvement (QI) project aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally tailored DASH diet education intervention in improving nutritional knowledge among African American adults with hypertension (HTN). Quality Improvement Project Educating Nursing Faculty On The Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric In Simulation, Tiffany Shivers

This quality improvement project aimed to enhance nursing faculty preparedness in simulation-based education by increasing knowledge and self-efficacy using the Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric (LCJR). A quasi-experimental, one-group pre-/post-intervention design was used to evaluate outcomes among ten faculty participants. The intervention consisted of an educational session introducing the LCJR and structured debriefing techniques. Data were collected using a knowledge assessment and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. Descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test were used to analyze changes in scores. Background: An estimated 76 million people worldwide suffer from alcohol use disorder, accounting for almost two million deaths annually. The Joint Commission has made it a requirement to screen all patients admitted to an inpatient facility for health-related social needs, including alcohol use. By doing so, outpatient resources can be provided appropriately.

Purpose: The facility of interest does not currently have a discharge follow-up protocol.
