Problem: The home school movement in America presents a rapidly-emerging alternative to conventional educational systems. The purpose of this study was to identify selected characteristics of home schools and the parents who operate them.
Method: The population used in this descriptive research was drawn from the files of the Hewitt Research Foundation, Berrien Springs, Michigan. Potential respondents were parents indicating recent experience or interest in home school operations. The study was designed to develop a profile of home schools and home school operators by identifying central tendencies in the respondent data. Problem. The development of an authentic Christian lifestyle is commonly accepted as a desirable goal which the church organization seeks to foster. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has accepted the development of the Christian personality within the youth and young adults as one of its goals. The purposeof this study was to investigate the relationship between intrinsic-extrinsic religious motivation and patterns of self-concept for a selected sample of single young adults of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. There is a lack of current data by which to evaluate how well the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary's Master of Divinity program prepares its graduates for the actual practice of ministry. Investigations concerning the responses of domestic wastewater treated at elevated pressures have demonstrated an acceleration in the rate of biological assimilation of the waste material. The literature is not extensive, but presents much conflicting data. There has been a lack of a coherent approach to the investigation of pressure in wastewater treatment. This demonstrates the need for standard testing apparatus and procedures.
A bench scale pressurized activated sludge process was designed and constructed. The apparatus was tested over a broad range of conditions and was found to give reproducible results. Kinetic responses of the pressurized process are presented.

Theory And Design Of Cyclotron-Wave Traveling-Wave Amplifiers, Arthur H. Gottfried

A theory and design procedure for traveling-wave tubes using cyclotron-wave interactions is developed. An analysis is presented of the energy exchange mechanism and the axial beam velocity spread induced by the r.f. interactions. The analysis of the energy spread in a realistic model of the beam with nonzero size and nonzero space-charge density shows that higher maximum efficiencies at higher power is attainable (with collector depression) in cyclotron-wave amplifiers than in synchronous-wave amplifiers.
A one-watt, and a ten-watt cyclotron-wave amplifier at 3 GHz, utilizing bifilar helix circuits, scaled from a 2 kW, 5 GHz design, were constructed. A computer was …

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of a primary prevention alternatives strategy with undergraduate college students. The prevention approach was examined to determine its effect upon the students' drug knowledge, drug attitudes, drug use behavior, and participation in alternative behaviors.
The design used was the pre-test - post-test control group design. There were five groups and two group leaders. The five groups consisted of two reinforcement of alternatives groups, two placebo/discussion groups and one control group. A total of sixtyseven volunteer subjects were randomly assigned across the five groups. The reinforcement and placebo/discussion groups were exposed …
