Problem. Specialists in educational trends forecast declining enrollments for higher education until at least theend of the twentieth century. Because of these forecasts many educators have turned to marketing in aneffort to find assistance in meeting challenges raised by the prospect of declining enrollments. It is commonly accepted that the success of an institution is determined ultimately by how well it satisfies theneeds and expectations of its constituents. Problem. There appears to be a growing uneasiness with much of current educational administrative theory and practice. It is hypothesized that this is largely due to inadequacies of the fundamental presuppositional platforms upon which these theories, practices, and methods are built.
Purpose. The primary purpose of this study is to discover and present the fundamental and broadly generalizable presuppositional platforms upon which the theory, methodology, and practice of educational administration should be built, and to develop and present a theoretical model for the educational administrative function that is built upon these presuppositional platforms.

Use Of The Audio Visual Tactile Treatment On Disabled Readers In Grades Three And Four : Its Effect On Word Recognition, Silent Reading Comprehension, And Attitude Towards Reading, Shirani Christine De Alwis

Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the Audio Visual Tactile (AVT) treatment in third - and fourth-grade disabled readers in three areas of reading: word-recognition skills , silent-reading comprehension skills , and attitude towards reading. Procedures A Quasi-Experimental Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Group Design was used. The subjects were 87 students in grades 3 and 4 with at least low-average intelligence ( I . Q. scores of 80 and above), receiving Title I reading-support services during the 1979-80 school year.
