The user can move the advertisement window within the video content while the advertisement is being displayed. Further, the video hosting platform can automatically place the ad frame such that it does not obstruct the view of the main content, e.g., by placing the ad frame in top or bottom black bands of the video. If the user …
Multi-Layered Power Module For Vertical Power Delivery Applications, N/A
Multi-Layered Power Module For Vertical Power Delivery Applications, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
Voltage regulators (VR), the source of power to printed circuit boards (PCB) and their components, are typically placed laterally with respect to their loads. A VR is typically connected to its load via a power delivery path that comprises metal planes, vias, decoupling capacitors, etc. Powerful ASICs are energy-intensive, consuming hundreds of amperes. This high power consumption leads to unacceptably high power loss on the lateral power delivery path, leading to other undesirable effects such as high operating temperatures and reduced reliability.
This disclosure describes a PCB design that places the VR directly below its load. A vertical power delivery …

Improving Low-Light Imaging By Using Infrared And Software Interpolation, Kavinaath Murugan, Aaditya Kandibanda
Defensive Publications Series
Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) sensors are found in many imaging systems, such as cameras, and can be tuned to receive various ranges of wavelengths of light. In low-visible-light conditions, a camera with a CMOS sensor tuned to visible light, as is common in many portable electronic devices, may struggle to produce clear or detailed images. Likewise, even though a camera with an infrared-tuned CMOS sensor may detect additional information unavailable to the visible-light CMOS sensor in low-visible-light conditions, the resulting infrared-only image would lack an accurate color representation of the scene. Nevertheless, an imaging system featuring a machine-learning computer-aided vision system …

Encoding Auxiliary Data Into Raster Images, Sascha Brawer
Encoding Auxiliary Data Into Raster Images, Sascha Brawer
Defensive Publications Series
In distributed Geographic Information Systems such as web maps, it is common to split large images into raster image tiles. Traditionally, clients request auxiliary data for an image region (such as a pixel position on which the user has clicked, tapped or hovered) by issuing a separate network request for additional information. However, such network round-trips slow down the user experience, particularly on slow or unreliable connections such as mobile networks. What is disclosed is a system and method for encoding auxiliary data into raster images so that remote clients can retrieve small amounts of encoded data without issuing separate …
