This disclosure describes virtual assistant based techniques that, with user permission, log medications, symptoms, and measures of health. The techniques offer an easy mechanism for users to document their symptoms, vital signs, health data, etc. For example, a user simply speaks out their symptoms to their virtual assistant to create a log. Vital signs are automatically logged by the virtual assistant (with user permission) using, e.g., sensors and mobile/wearable devices. The techniques enable users to develop a personal health journal that frictionlessly logs activity, sleep, nutrition, heart rate, etc. When enabled, the virtual assistant reminds users of medications to be …

Automatic Calibration Of Wipers To Ensure That An Optimal Force Is Applied To The Printheads, Hp Inc Sep 2019

Automatic Calibration Of Wipers To Ensure That An Optimal Force Is Applied To The Printheads, Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

The procedure herein disclosed allows the printer to automatically detect with high precision the

point where a non‐rigid moving element (for example, the wiper such as a rubber wipe or a web

wipe subsystem) starts interfering with the nozzle plate as to ensure that the force applied during

the wiping routines stays at the optimal value, avoiding disturbances coming from:

‐ The geometric tolerances of the machine and subsystems. These tolerances cause that the

machines have different distances between the wiper subsystems and the nozzle plate in

each particular machine and wiper.

‐ The geometric tolerances of the consumable. Bare …

System Identity With Intent To Mitigate Critical Part Replacement, Chirag Shroff Sep 2019

System Identity With Intent To Mitigate Critical Part Replacement, Chirag Shroff

Defensive Publications Series

Presented herein is hardware fingerprinting technology that provides the ability to detect tampered hardware using a trust anchor. During manufacturing of networking equipment (e.g., routers, switches, etc.), a manufacturer fingerprints the critical hardware elements of a platform/system, such as Central Processing Units (CPUs) and/or Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). The fingerprint is stored in the tamper resistant trust anchor. This fingerprint is then examined at every power cycle (and possibly on-demand) to determine whether a critical component has been replaced.

Battery Cell Self-Discharge Rate Grouping To Enchance Battery Life (Bsgtebl), Hp Inc

Defensive Publications Series

When battery is stored for a period (e.g. stored NB for a period), voltage of each cell in

battery pack will result deviation. Higher the deviation (Delta V = voltage difference)

higher inconsistency of voltage among each cell will be realized and finally leading to shorter battery life. This phenomenon is called “CIM (Cell imbalance)”.

• In order to decrease DeltaV (voltage difference), battery cells will be divided into several groups, then the consistency of each defined group with similar self-discharge rate.

• The general parameters used to group cells are open-circuit voltage (OCV), capacity, impedance.

Self-discharge rate can …
